I am happy. Case is my first choice. Amazing clinically focused😀😀

Who else is in?

From previous post:
Pros:
+Private funding (not dictated to by politicians, but still by other health professionals... good and bad)
+16 commendations last year for reaccreditation
+a real SIM LAB, that actually simulates
+1:6 faculty/student ratio
+ secretary program (saves you time/headache)
+send out lab work once you are competent (saves time)
+relaxed but professional atmosphere
+can do your own "focus on specialty" once you show competencies in all other procedures
+own operatory
+preceptor program/association with a professor and student group through all 4 yrs
+somewhat affordable housing (cheaper to buy than to rent)
+IN TOP OF NATION FOR PRACTICE MANAGEMENT CLASSES/TRAINING, this is a big plus for me... I will be a businessman in addition to a health care professional.
+excellent clinical focus

Cons:
Price
Location
Price

how did u guys find out that u r in? did them email or call?

In as well!🙂

Hey Zubnaya,

if you don't mind me asking...are you planning on attending case, or just saying you got accepted 😛?
Seems like you'll have quite a few acceptances to be sorting through 👍

I will most likely not attend. UPenn offered me Deans... 😀

If my AADSAS for Case is not updated since 11/30/09..
Does that mean I am not in?
Do I still have a chance?
It says Recieved/Under Review
Hmm.. Rejected? Waitlisted? Still have a chance?

in as well! but is just too pricey, can't pass up my state school.

nice

As a D1 @ Case, do not recommend our school. It started off good, but our Dental Anatomy professor is a demon from hell... She failed 20 out of our 70 class... Yeah, we do have excellent clinic, if we ever pass Dental Anatomy

:scared:

I'm in as well! I saw an update on AADSAS Dec. 1st and I got a skimpy acceptance letter in the mail (I am from Cleveland though, so yours could be in the mail still 🙂 )

I'm stuck between Case and UPenn- As the top of this thread outlines, the school's credentials are amazing in my opinion, but I received a UPenn scholarship as well, not sure how to pick!

got aadsas update Offer made on Dec 1st. I was out of town and just found out. Pretty stoke. Still waiting for other school though

Do you know when they tell you about scholarship- whether you got one or not?

I've decided that I am going to
attend, so hopefully I'll see some of you next fall

wait, what's this about a scholarship? ha

If you get 3.5+ and 20AA+, you are automatically got 10000 scholarship.

I heard this too but I think its $1 000 not $10 000. Can anyone confirm this?

If its $10 000, I am going to re-write my DAT even though I am accepted to get over a 20 lol

I am pretty sure it is 10 grand, since i remember the financial aid lady that you can get from 1000-10000. I guess just to be sure you can call financial aid office

This is going to sound like a dumb question, but did anybody hear what color our scrubs are going to be for our class? I want to know since I have to wear them for 4 years.

I'm almost certain I'll be going.
See you there! 😉

I think they vote at the beginning of the year.

would anybody like to make a fb page for Case... I am still waiting to hear back from a couple of schools 🙂

Yes you do vote for your scrub color during O-week

Wow,
thanks for honest response.
Unlike other, my state school is UCLA/UCSF, which is extremely competitive to get into, i won't know UCSF decision until January 15.

Now, should i cross Case off my list😡

wow... the above individual was really hating on case. I think that everyone has their own experience and the experience will be what you make of it. It is expensive but you knew what you were getting into when you decided to go there. some quick points: there are a lot of hoops to jump through in clinic to get stuff sent to the lab and you wait in lines a lot but that is part of being a student. I cant imagine a school that would just let you send whatever crappy impression or denture to the lab without being checked or a school that has enough faculty to eliminate waiting in line to get things checked off.

patient retention is much approved to some new policies. the secretary program only helps that they call your patients the day before their appointments. but i think it is the students responsibility to take care of their own schedule and you are the one who will retain your patients.

these are just a few things. the main thing also would be that the administration hears our complaints and does something which is nice. I am relatively happy with where I am but things could always be better.

I got 15K scholarship renewable notification today!! The award letter does say that to keep the scholarship you must maintain an 85% average- do current students know if the school is thus keeping track of percentage performance in the classes despite the P/F system or if students have trouble keeping their scholarships? Thanks!

Congrats on the scholarship! I got $15K too! I would love to know how many students are able to keep the scholarship all four years too. How many students are offered the scholarship?

wow congrats, guys on the 15K scholarship!!! that's incredible
does the letter indicate what the criteria was for the scholarship?
what were your gpa/dat stats if you don't mind me asking...
thanks! =)

Is the area around Case dental school really that bad? How about the campus itself?

i emailed david dalsky and found out that i'm in! yayy acceptance letters are gonna be put in the mail today 🙂
but i wonder if there are still some scholarships left post-dec.1... =S

Congrats on the acceptance, I'm looking forward to getting to meet everyone in august.

AADSAS status just updated to "Offer Made." Assuming this means I'm in (?), I'm very happy!

Congrats, thats got to be an awesome feeling, where in washington you from?
