I was really expecting an acceptance from NYU but unfortunately got waitlisted after an interview.Very depressing:(.I wonder how are my chances to get into NYU for Advanced Placement this year?
Anyone else who got waitlisted?

same thing happend to me, so we are in the same boat :thumbup:

Does anybody know when will NYU start calling from the waitlist?:confused:
 
I am waitlisted too. I was interviewed on March 1st. ANother applicant from my batch got waitlisted. Dunno abt the rest though :(:(:(:(:scared:

I too am waitlisted...in my batch there were 12 people and only 2 were waitlisted.
I wonder how many are there like us and what are our chances to be accepted?:xf::xf:
 
@ gml..when were you interviewed...mine was on feb22 and most of us are waitlisted:confused:

there were 14 in my batch ... as of now I know me and another one got waitlisted..don't know about the rest
 
I was interviewed on Mach 1st .. I am too waitlisted .. ;-(
 
I'm wait listed too, need to wait for an other year now...Anybody else interviewed on March 3rd

hey friends...one true advice for people who got wait listed in NYU...NYU do offer admissions to the wait listed people, but that will happen at the end of the cycle...so in other words, NYU wont give you enough time to prepare for initial deposit and even for loans. so, friends be prepared with initial deposit money as this cycle approach to the end..all the best..:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Thanx for the tip. do you know roughly how many do get that offer?? what exactly do you mean by initial deposit?? is it the 5000$ or some part of the tuition too??

I got my invite in feb but i was not able to reach for interview then n got interviewed on last day ie 10 march. There were just 6-7 ppl. Interview's are over for this cycle, and during the question answer session, the ans to the que that how many students who get into waitlist might get a call was - we are not sure as of now but its a good chance that very few will be called for this year may be only 2 or 3. So, dont give up on ur hopes yet, there is still a chance. I havn't heard from them yet but its only been few days so, keeping my finger's crossed...
 
last year i know 4 of my friend who were wait listed first and then got acceptance PHONE CALL few weeks before the opening date of class..they were told to submit some part of the first semester fees withing few days..well, thats really scary if you dont have any well established person living in United states...but, its better to be prepared...
 
I m waitlisted too.reapplicant last yr also situation was d same.so waiting since a yr.. i was interviewed on 17 th feb.

When NYU will get deposits from all accepted applicants and after some documents formalities they will start wait list.When I talked to an admission office they told me in May.But I think most probably they will start at the end of April.:xf:
 
Have they started calling from the waitlist? Any news?Please post if you have any info,thanks

Dont worry guys.. Some people have started declining.. There will soon be some vacancies and the waitlisted people will be called.. Good luck to all :thumbup:

i was expecting a call from nyu but fortunately i got in BU, so i'm going there... but i have a piece of information that i'd like to share for those who r stil waiting n to prove how unfair NYU is. I was acquainted with this person who was suspended from retaking NBDE part 1 for 3 yrs because she was caught cheating during the exam. Her score in NBDE 1 is 81 and NBDE 2 is 74. But she got in this year. If you'd like more information on this, message me.

Why are you propagating info like this? U got into BU..so you should have no complaints about NYU. Despite the info you have, if people get offered seats at NYU they will undoubtedly take the offer. Seems to me like you wanna spread this rumor cuz you haven't gotten in yet, beware everyone...just my 2 cents.
 
Hey dont lose hope everyone who got waitlisted, I know 5 people who got acceptance from NYU and declined it. There is a good chance that u will get an acceptance. I think finances are more important and one should be ready with that. All the very best.

It does not make much sence...Not too many people with 81 on part 1 made it to to NYU. Second of all, when you caught "cheating" on this type of exam it's not just "wait-and-retake" type of thing. Plus, 74 on part 2 is not really a score...the passing score is 75. Anyway, congrats on your admission to BU...I think their program is good. There is no need in trying to compromise other university (program) based on your negative application/interview experience.
 
All waiting and worries came to an end today. I got accepted in NYU. I was waitlisted and was interviewed on 10th march. :laugh::love::smuggrin::clap::banana::banana::banana::biglove::rofl::zip::zip:

congratulations......your approval is motivating me to keep hoping....i dont know how 2 do banana dance..can anyone do from my side for him..
 
I also got accepted at NYU. I was interviewed on March 10th, got wait-listed and then received a phone call about two weeks ago. I haven't posted anything about my acceptance before because I wanted to be sure. For the people that are still waiting, do not lose the hope that NYU might call even a day before the start of the school.

After waiting for so long,I too made it into NYU for this year:)!!! I got the call about 2 weeks back but was busy with many things so couldn't post here.So for those who are waiting,don't lose your hope....it could be on your way any time.Be prepared.
