Just finished my exam and I am content with my scores... I know it may not seem amazing to all you 25 AA-er's out there but it works for me:

PAT- 20 (79.0%)
QR- 19 (91.2%)
RCT- 20 (64.3%)
BIO- 19 (76.6%)
GC- 22 (91.8%) 🙂
OC- 25 (95.5%) 🙂
__
TS- 21 (91.6%) 🙂
AA- 21 (93.4%) 😀

I intended on taking the exam this past summer and completed the 2008 Destroyer (bio, ochem, and gchem) and then forgot it all. Throughout the semester, I took time to review and familiarize myself with the PAT and bio using the 2011 Destroyer. My hardcore studying began Jan 1, 2012. I studied everyday for about 14 hours. The day before my exam, I looked over my notes to build confidence in what I knew, and tried not to worry about things I didn't know (since there will always be things you don't know! ... hence the nonexistent AA 30). Here are the resources I used:

PAT: Crackpat is the closest you can get to the real thing. Angles and pattern folding are harder. Pattern folding is less about matching with the right "pattern" but rather forming a figure using the pattern.

QR: Never really studied for this section aside from using CDM. Took one pract test from the Math destroyer (test 11) and both CDM and MD were a lot harder than the real thing... Surprised I didn't score higher I only guessed one 1 question and was done 5 mins early.

RCT: Generally scored an 18 on CDR... Almost all the questions I had were S&D... RCT is normally my weakest component but I actually thought I scored higher than a 20.

Bio: Unless your gen bio background is weak, ALL YOU NEED are Alan's notes and the destroyer in order to get a 20+ score. If you memorize the hell out of both those resources you really can't do bad. I have a weak gen bio background... last taking it 4 years ago (ap bio)... and so I reviewed using AP Cliffnotes and Schaum's outline. Reviewing these resources will give you a better sense of the ABSOLUTE MONEY material in Alan's notes and the bio destroyer. Basically what I'm saying is that its hard to make sense of Alan's notes and the bio destroyer without a developed gen bio background.

GChem: I used Gchem Destroyer for studying, and it'll give you an easy 20+. There will be concept questions you don't know simply based on the fact that you can't recall certain explanations that were listed in the destroyer solutions. Overall, solid source. I also tutor genchem at school and so it helped me stay "warm" with this material.

OChem: I used the Ochem Destroyer for studying here as well. I generally like studying for orgo ... Once again, the questions that will trip you up are concept questions, NOT reactions. Read the orgo solutions to score above and beyond. I also tutor ochem at school and so it helped me stay "warm" with this material.

I genuinely want to know if beyond a solid 21 anything is actually required..

Regardless though your scores are excellent!

Congrats on the success after all the struggles and studying onto the fresh fields of applications now!

congrats dude!
was the Alan's notes that helpful??

Thanks! And yes very helpful. The fact is you're not going to know everything on the exam but a full understanding of Alan's notes is sufficient for just about a 20. If you're aiming for a ridiculously high bio score then go through an insane amount of materials. Even when you go through a lot of materials, you'll find that the majority is included in Alan's notes. I memorized and more importantly understood Alan's notes before going through the destroyer bio and I was surprised at how much I was able to answer correctly and eliminate wrong answer choices. Alan's notes are pure gold, but of course feel free to add details to the notes 🙂

Good job I wish I could pulled of a 21aa.Your scores are all solid. Did you end up taking the 2009 Practice test? I had 2 questions that were identical to questions on the 2009 test. I thought that was crazy its worth the money just for that to bad they were questions I got right on the practice test.

Nope never ended up taking the 2009 ada test because I waited till the day before to decide whether or not I would take it and I was mind****ed the day before. I needed to clear my mind and be ready for gameday.

And our scores are pretty identical... diasteriomers to be precise 🙂
