Hi SDN Community,

I CANNNNNTTTT BELIEVEE I AM FINALLY POSTING MY SCORES ON HERE!!! :)
I have just been a long time lurker but never really posted anything. However I TOOK MY DAT yesterday and boy am I relieved.

PAT: 20 (81%)
QR: 18 (86.6%) =/
RC : 20 ( 78.5%)
Bio: 20 (91.8%)
GChem:23 (97.3%)
OChem: 21 (89.7&)
Total Science: 21 (96.2%)
Academic Avg: 20 ( 93.4%)

My score isnt as great as some of the more awesomesauce people on here but I am happy with what I got because it required some blood, sweat and tears.

I am a Business Major but I have completed all of my prerequisites.
Overall GPA: 3.65 and Science GPA approx: 3.45

What chances do you guys think I have??
Thank you SDN community for all of the guidance you have provided. :)
If anyone would like to ask me anything in more detail I would be more than happy to help.

TOTAL TIME of consistent 10-12 hours a day for 3 weeks. NO DAYS OFF.
Breakdown:
PAT : Materials CDP, CDP and CDP
The first time I did CDP I cried because I got a 16. I was not good AT ALL.I didnt even have the time to finish. But I just kept practicing like an animal.I started getting 20s and 21s Finally after the 5th test. SO the moral of the story is ..DONT GIVE UP!!!
After I read this post my TFE increased drasticallly! THANKS SAMA951.

Actual DAT PAT: Keyholes, TFE and Angles were the same difficulty as CDP. But the Patterns were so so difficult. The shapes were so irregular. Cubes were easier because there were NO ILLUSIONS. =)

QR: I watched Chads videos all in one day and took the supplementary quizzes. But when I took my first Math Destroyer test it took me 2 hours!!! I was soo frustrated that I just gave up. Finally, I came to my senses and did about 5 tests from that book.
Actual DAT QR: wth?! I dont know how anyone can finish that entire test fully within the given time. My strategy was to answer all of the algebra questions. Clearly that is my lowest score (18) so dont listen to me. haha.

RC Topscore and Kaplan book tests
Topscore was not very indicative of the actual DAT. That is the only thing I practiced timed. THANK GOD I DID NOT DO SEARCH AND DESTROY. From reading various posts, I realized that the actual DAT was more tone and critical thinking. So, on the actual DAT I started reading the passage and answered the questions as they came. English is my second language and I was able to finish reading the passages in time so YOU CAN TOO!!!!

Bio: KBB,Alan's Notes, Hippocampus videos, DAT destroyer, 115 Prep MCAT Test,
http://www.prep101.com/mcat/free-mcat-study-aids/
I wish I read Cliffs but I didnt have enough time.
I love Bio so I had fun studying it. However, I HATE TAXONOMY.
Actual DAT: I got really lucky in the sense that there was barely any taxonomy.

Gen Chem: Chad + DAT Destroyer
I am not very good at Gen Chem so I spent allot of time studying it! I literally memorized his videos and did DAT destroyer twice for it.
ACTUAL DAT: Not allot of calculation which I was soo happy about. Allot of it was concepts.

Orgo Chem: Same prep as Gen chem.
I also did all of the road maps 2 days before the tests without looking.

Actual DAT Orgo: Allot of Free radical bromination and multiple step reactions.

FULL LENGTHS: Topscore and OAT Sample test.
Motivation during my weak moments. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkltJT6PQ-g

I have been very humbled by my experience. It was tough but I am glad to be done!!!! ready for summatime!!!

Awesome Job! Im taking it June 1st as well! What are some of the major biology concepts you would recommend reviewing for my last two days?

@ Trocha86,

Thank you! Dont be nervous. However, in the last two days I was so nervous that I wanted to vomit. It was bad. I wouldnt suggest doing any questions tom. JUST NOTES. I just went over Alan's Bio Notes and Chad's Gen Chem and Orgo Notes that I had made from the videos. I also went over all my math formulas the night before, ESPECIALLY THE TRIG.
One thing that I did, that not many people here on SDN suggested was analyzing a couple of PAT questions the morning of my exam. I analyzed an old CRACK DAT PAT test. It just got my brain in that visualization mindframe. Also, during the 15 minute break I wrote out my entire trig chart (sin, cos, tan, csc, sec, cot) so I could do them super fast. Other than that just take DEEP BREATHS!!!

super quick question, when you said you did your entire trig chart during the break, were you allowed to stay in test room to write that down on your laminated sheets or you were just writing them out as practice to refresh your mind outside of the testing room?

Hey!
During the 15 minutes, I took a 10 minutebreak outside and when I got back, I used the 5 minutes to work on the chart on the laminated sheets inside the testing facility.

BIg congrats on the awesome scores. I know exactly how you feel! I took mine over 3 months ago and still can't believe it's over sometimes (gave up "living" first half of the semester this year) haha

Your chances of getting in somewhere based on your scores are definitely extremely high! Average score of matriculating students in dental school is around 19 and you are def above that!
Good luck!
AADSAS in four days I assume?

awesome breakdown!
quesiton for RC section.. Search and destroy did not work?
how many tones or critical thinking questions did you have? (about)

@kies89,

I just felt you needed to answer about 80% of the questions with some sort of analytical knowledge. I know that for Topscore, I never really understood the passage, I would simply look for a similar phrase in the text. But that method would not have worked for the REAL DAT.

THANKS for that confidence boost. I keep hearing stories about how a 20 is not competitive enough. I just pray to God I land some interviews. Yes def doing app soon! Do you know when secondary apps are released for different schools??

Thanks =)

Scores look good to me! It's also encouraging to hear that you only studied for 3 weeks, even though you studied for 10-12 hours per day. I'm a week in to a 6 week study plan studying about 8 hours a day and I was a bit worried that may not be enough after hearing of other students who make it seem like they studied for 3 months, 10 hours a day lol. You have a good shot in my opinion, start enjoying your summer! I'll meet you there in about 5 weeks lol...

Well, I would randomly study during the semester too. But it wasnt much. You will do great! 6 weeks is a solid time.

Good LUCK!!!:luck:
