Hi all

Curious what everyone thinks about away/audition rotations for Rads. The general consensus is that they are not necessary, however, that is coming from MD sources. What do we think from a DO perspective?

Necessary? Helpful? Hurtful?

Slightly helpful for both you and the program but not necessary. Doing 1 at a mid-tier program within realistic reach (somewhat local, takes DO's, took people from your school) would be beneficial to see how a typical program functions and it'll give you a better idea of what you'd like in other similar programs for ranking/comparison. As long as you demonstrate that you're teachable and likeable the program will like you more and know you better than they otherwise would have through a 20 minute zoom interview. Any more than 1 away would probably be excessive.
