Hey guys,

Wanted to know, what other mental math resources are there besides the
1) Kaplan Math Foundation
2) Premed411 pdf
3)Sdn . .I think it was called the arithmetic tips thread?
4) Berkely Stoichiometry Chapter( last couple of pages talks about fractions)

Are there any other threads that can help out with the mental math? or is there a mental math bank somewhere? a website? a book name?

Does the Princeton review have anything?

Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone

So I really thought that one of the hurdles that a good portion of us face is the math in the physical sciences 🙂

I need to know . . .cause I need help on improving my math! So help me please! I know I'm not the only one!

Speaking solely about BR materials, you should also look in the acids and bases section for log tricks. One of them can be seen by clicking on the "some helpful test tricks" link in my signature. The translational motion section has some "pre-calculation" suggestions, where you use numbers you know in advance to estimate answers to very hard numerical questions. The fluids section, circuits section, and optics section show a few manipulations of formulas to make calculations easier. An example of the circuit trick is also in the "some helpful test tricks" thread linked in my signature.

There are several clever math tricks in the books. If you compile a list as you go through the materials, you'll have a great math tricks summary by the end.

Thanks for all the info BerkeviewTeach . . ..those resources have been very valuable to me. I guess what I am more interested in is . . .more of an access to a mental math test bank. I have compiled of list of tricks . .. but I haven't been able to practice it as much.
You see I kind of made up my mind that I would do mental math daily 30min in morning as warm up .. . but when I look at various sites, its more geared towards, the school education of that particular class(ex: algebra) or it doesn't provide answers to mental math . . .so I don't know like even if there is a resource for "math for standardized testing"

So I thought that one can be made or found with the help of the sdn community 🙂
