This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
You may have noticed the MDapplicants.com link in my signature. It's a free site for prior medical school applicants to share their application experiences with current premedical students. Over the last four years, it has accumulated 5700 profiles of applicants, and serves over a million pages each month.

In the same vein, to pass the time waiting for Match Day (nothing makes time fly by like a deadline you're racing to beat), I have created MatchApplicants.com, and am using Ophthalmology as the pilot. It's basically the same concept as what Andrew Doan has been putting together, only in a formalized concept that, when the site is finished, will allow future applicants to search based on criteria of interest (how many "are my Step 1 scores good enough for Ophtho?" threads have we seen?), will summarize applicants and comments for each individual program, and provide current applicants a way to track their applications, interviews, and experiences.

It's definitely in what you might call "beta," in terms of all the widgets being in place, and the graphical polish isn't quite there yet, but the database behind it works for adding and viewing profiles. It would be wonderful if current applicants receiving the good news, as well as past applicants lurking on this forum, would help jumpstart this site. If enough people find it useful to motivate me to work on the site, I'll expand slowly to other specialties.

Comments, and errors encountered, are very, very, very welcome. I will be programmin' away for the next few days to fill in the holes (Search function, Program pages, missing buttons, etc.)

Edit: Eeep, there was a problem with the database this evening where it was overwriting profiles on top of each other. I had to delete profiles #1 and #2, sorry. This is the thanks you get for being eager to help. 🙁 But now it's fixed!

Great idea. Looks like you put in time! I am sure it will be very helpful for me next year. Thanks!!!
