My question to anyone who's been to a pretty hyped up school for an interview and tour... What do ya'll think about those schools, do they usually live up to the hype... Some schools i think that should be listed are Harvard, Penn, NYU, USC (sports sports sports)...

... Or do you think its on a school by school basis, if a school is suppose to be well organized, good tech, and good prof's?

also, have you been to a unhyped school and be surprised that it is actually better than some hyped schools?

Who is doing this supposed hyping? One thing I was told MANY times when I was a pre-dent was not to confuse a good undergraduate school or well-known university with a top dental school. Those are all fine schools, but I wouldn't consider them amongst the best (other than Penn, which is supposed to be quite good). Talk to dentists to find out the best schools (not people who only know names). You'll hear schools like Michigan, UNC, San Antonio, etc

People who get caught up by hype are taking the wrong approach. The whole application process should be approached with a great deal of humbleness. No matter how good your stats, LOR, and extracurricular activities maybe people are still at the mercy of the admissions committee. Just getting one acceptance from ANY school that an individual applies should be sufficient.

One side note, USC will always be in my mind as having the football team that got beat by Stanford's football team.

Nice pics, but none of them are in or outside the dental building. 🙂

Whoever said it was like a dungeon was mistaken. There are windows all over the place. The 4th floor pre-clinic has an awesome view of the west side of SF and if you spend a lot of late nights, which you will if you come here, you will get to see some awesome sunsets.

I can't vouch on how nice the library is cuz I'm not really sure where it is.:laugh:

Couldn't take pics there. There wasn't proper lighting in the dungeon.
