Anyone heard from dental schools yet?

has anyone got any weird mail from UDM, I got a letter saying that I needed to submit another LOR, then I called saying that I submitted my last letter over a month ago. She responded by saying that they hadn't opened any mail from aadsas for over a month, so it might be in there.....How is that at all helpful, why tell me to send you another letter, when even if I do you won't get it. I have heard good things about this school but their admissions department is really irritating me.

Just rejected from UCSF. I interviewed there this last Thursday (11/12) and got the email today (11/18) so they rejected me within a week of interviewing me. And I thought my interviews went really well so I dunno what's up. Anyone heard of anything similar happening to anyone?
I got the same dreaded email from UCSF Dannelid (interviewed 11/2). Damn there goes the hope that it was some type of mistake... 😳
edit: ... I just realized that you are the guy I met at my UCLA interview that went to my high school... maybe they don't like us granada kids..

Sorry about your rejection. I hope you get into all other schools you applied to. Do you by any chance remember who were your interviewers?
And also Oli, you guys are not alone. I got the rejection from UCSF today also. I interviewed there in early/mid October, and I thought I did well also.
If it's any consolation, this is my second rejection from them, since I interviewed there last year as well.
Sheesh, I can't believe UCSF is already rejecting interviewees

my application was sent to schools late July and I didn't received anything regarding interview from NYU yet.
It seems to me that schools have sent out very limited number of interview invites for the last 4-5 weeks. I wonder when they actively invite for post december interviews.

I was going to ask the same question. When did you apply? I am a late applicant, and I did received an email from them that my application was complete (Oct). However, I haven't hear anything from them since. Are they still interviewing or are they stopping interviewing people till January like UCSF?
I am also OOS.
I applied in July. I do not know if they are still interviewing or they're done. Hopefully they are still interviewing
How does nyu work? do they skip applicants and come back to them later? I got an app complete email early Oct. and haven't heard anything from them and I called and they said it is under review. Does this mean I'm most likely going to be rejected? I think my stats are good enough for nyu, I have interviews at uw, unlv, indiana, case, and nova, I always thought nyu was a little easier to get into..any advice would be appreciated! I really want to go to nyu I have lots of family there, thanks!
I have the same exact question my friend! I am Canadian! So my options are less than yours. I have the NOVA interview in January. I got the NYU Application Complete email on October 17. I thought I had a decent stat for NYU. I am getting worried too! Any advice is greatly appreciated 🙂
Yea I've been waiting for an interview from NYU, but I think they're choosing not to invite some of the more "over-qualified" applications. Not to toot my own horn, but at this point, I think I will have some better options than NYU this winter.

What about all the applicants they've already invited with great stats. They were not overlooked so why would they overlook anyone. No school considers an applicant overqualified, that's the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. If they like you on paper, they will invite you. If they don't, they will reject you. Trust me, no school thinks an applicant is too good for them. If they want you, you'll get an interview
Little too cocky huh? First off your GPA is well below their average, and DAT is very slightly above their average. And also remember that numbers arent everything...
I generally agree with this logic to some extent, except during my interview day there were several applicants with much higher stats than yours.
Sounds like a case of Tufts Syndrome to me. Not that I believe it is..

I am applying to dental school for the 2011 cycle and am wondering how much time before each year's June 1st official opening can I begin dropping in LOR's, transcripts, and such? Is it a couple weeks? months? I am trying to find info on this but can't. Any help or a direction to the correct thread would be appreciated. Thank you.

I believe you can start sending in when when your application opens. You need to have your AADSAS number to do anything.

Rejected from UCSF today (December 15th) pre-interview via email. Finally.
I was rejected from UCSF today as well, via email. Do they have to put "denied" in the subject title? Kind of a downer.
Had you interviewed there? Heard nothing back from them and no interview... not stressing about it though, already have some acceptances.
