Edit 2: I don't think it is a complete waste of time anymore.
I thought since this has such an attention grabbing title I might as well post my thoughts about the practice test instead of wasting everyone's time.
I am not sure how the GUI of this test compares to test day but the interface seemed a lot more clunky than the online practice tests I have taken from Kaplan. This test doesn't have a built in calculator and I am not sure how the GUI compares to the actual DAT. I think it is probably the case that this is the same version as the 2009 test that you can send away for. Additionally one drawback is that while you can review your answers, any pictures that were in the test will not be available for you to see, so you're pretty much out of look for reviewing your mistakes on the PAT (and there was one hole punch that i really wanted to look at again afterwards- darn...)
The Bio section didn't seem to have the level of randomness that recent breakdowns would lead me to believe is in the actual DAT and though I missed 5 questions
Orgo and Gen-chem seemed startlingly easy. I missed one gen chem and 2 orgo questions.
PAT was much more difficult than Kaplan. Last Kaplan test I missed only 4 and this time I missed 10 4 of which were in angle ranking alone!
Reading comprehension was good to be exposed to. It was much harder than Kaplan where i'd been missing 3 or 4 each time and i missed 8 this time. I am glad I saw the types of question that they could throw at me as Kaplan didn't have any of the type where you have a statement and evidence and then evaluate the veracity of each.
Some of the QR questions surprised me. I have only done 10/13 math destroyer so maybe some of the questions I saw would be similar to those of the last three tests but I certainly came up against some new question types.
If anyone has questions about the online version of the test I'd be happy to answer them!
