Hey,
In the Nova's application form there is this question that asks to "describe any special circumstances which you feel might aid the Committee for Admissions in evaluating your application."
What does this question refer to? Should I talk about my exposure in the field? Is this question aimed only to people who have had excruciating circumstances? 😕

Thanks 😉

I think that it refers to if there was a death in the family, you were sick for a while, etc. Something that would have caused your grades to suffer.

that's exactly what it means... were you sitting with a mother with cancer during your fourth semster, did you have to withdraw a semester because of mono... stuff like that.

So most applicants won?t answer anything to this question?
It?s kind of weird that Nova doesn?t ask about opt. experience in their application.

If you don't talk about your optometry experience in your personal essay, why not put it in the "special circumstances" section? It can't hurt to put it there, the way I look at it.

I bet you'll have more than enough opportunity to discuss your optometry related experiences in the interview too!

Jopt, I had the same question...I called down there and they told me that what you should put there is if you are interested in their extended program or the master's program, and if not you should put that you have no special circumstances. That is what I put...I just had my interview at Nova yesterday, so I must have filled it out correctly 🙂 If you have any questions call the school and ask to speak with Fran, she'll take care of you!

Yesterday?!?! Holy cow, that reminds me that I need to get going with my application. +pissed+
I have had the worse time writing those freaking essays, but I?m going to force myself to finish them this weekend.
How did the interview go?
