Hello, guys.

I had an interview at Buffalo last week and found out that I`m on the alternate waiting list at this morning.
Hmmm...I really wanted to hear a good news...but, well, it was just my hope..😳
Anyone who knows about Buffalo well...what do you think about the "alternate waiting list"? Is this another way to say "Rejection" somehow? Of course it is not, but since I heard that Buffalo has put lots of people on their waiting list, I am a little bit hopeless...🙁
How many people will be on the list? Approximately? anyone knows? (I know that nobody knows..😛)
Should we wait until March 14 which is the last day of interviewing?

Let's share some info about the "waiting" things together which sucks~
 
Hey. I was placed on the list late December just before Christmas. Since then I've seen here on SDN at least 15-20 added wait-listers. You can imagine quite a few are on the waitlist that aren't on SDN and a good handful from before my late Dec. addition to the list. So, I don't know......70-80 on the list?
 
wow thats a lot of people. i'm on it too, and i was so heartbroken when i got the news before christmas. i wish they could tell you where you are on the list. hope is torture
 
How did you find out about being waitlisted? Did you call them or was that updated on AADSAS?
 
yea i haven't heard of anyone being rejected after the interview, i go to ub as an undergrad and have talked to many people who all have said they haven't heard of a single person being rejected after the interview so i'd imagine the waitlist is very long but for many i think it's basically a rejection..hopefully i'm wrong, does anyone know of someone that got rejected after the interview?
 
Call UB and you can ask Barbara..I checked predents.com and saw some people got rejections after their interviews...Sorry to hear that, haisha...anyway, we have to go on and let's keep our heads on!
 
did anyone that just interview get an acceptance or is everyone getting waitlist spots? i hope we aren't interviewing for waitlist spots :scared::scared:

to those that recently interviewed, did they say the call was full or anything of that sort?

Don't worry about the waitlist or your performance in the interview will get affected. Do your best and hope for the best.

I interviewed last week on Friday and they had spots open still. They really don't say how many though. She did say that there is still alot of movement.

Buffalo is a rather large state school.

Still a state school. It's the state funding not the number of in staters per class that determines that. Buffalo isn't necessarily a place that is going to attract people like NYC. It's a blessing for us out of staters.

it is aggravating though that the school takes the state funding or should i say tax dollars from those in staters but doesnt have a preference for them like most state schools. i asked why this is during my interview but they didn't give me a straight response.

you'd think there would be preference to NY residents

i wish there was but dr brown even told me they have done away with that, i really want to know why but couldn't get an answer. anyone have any ideas?

my interview was in january, the school seemed good, i go to ub as an undergrad so i knew what the campus was like i didn't know how their facilities were but i was pleased..in reality it wasn't the best school i went to but its still my top choice. btw hear anything from pitt yet?

rose said i should hear by the end of next week.
i was very impressed with the school; it actually resembled buffalo a little

no ive been waitlisted or should i say put on the alternate list..did ur pitt status change to received/under review on aadsas?

prolly just making their decisions they only have one more interview date left i think so theyre prolly meeting and finally choosing

when is that date and when will they be done choosing, did they say? I was told we'd hear back this past week of the status - good or bad but my aadsas still says invited for interview. anyone else recently interviewed and not heard anything yet?

it depends on which school your talking about, we were talking about pitt when it came to the decisions and such.

just wanted to let all you know not to give up. i am a first year at UB and i was on alternate list until the day before classes started. i am proof that the alternate list does not mean "rejection"
 
hmm....I just received an email from Buffalo saying that as of today, they have not taken anyone off the alternate list..🙁

It could happen anytime!

how did you get an email?( should have everyone on the waitlist gotten it?) and by them not taking anyone off the waitlist yet(is that meaning the class is full?)
 
The class might be full right now OR they are not considering the alternate list yet. I have no idea.
I sent an email and got a response today. Weird...it seems that many people on SDN get off the waiting list but no one from Buffalo..(oh..of course, many other schools, too..)

hey guys... I called up Buffalo on friday and they also told me they still have not gone to there wait list.

Has anyone heard of any movement on the Buffalo waitlist?

not to get anyone's hopes down but i was told by dr brown that in years past they didn't go to the waitlist even once, so unfortunately this could be another one of those years, but lets hope not.
 
I haven't heard anything from Meharry either, no one has dropped. Maybe some schools don't have a waitlist movement.
 
Yeah, I heard that story from Dr Brown...however, he also mentioned that for last two years, there were some people who got in off the waitlist. I know it is getting more competitive than ever, but I keep praying🙂

Well I know this is an old thread..but I think it is appropriate to revisit. Anyone heard anything?
 
wow..good to see my old thread again 🙂 Well, I had an interview at Buffalo this year and again, I am placed on the waiting list. Keep praying...
 
During my interview at Buffalo one of the tour guides told me that he had an interview during January and was not accepted till July. He is a D2 now. Only half way through the acceptance cycle then...

To Dantheman2007 and rjs38....are you still considering Buffalo and Pitt? Those were my two acceptances and I think I'm going to opt for Buffalo since it is so much cheaper.
