So I recently started prepping for the MCAT and from the reading that I've done on SDN, the verbal section seems to be the most feared and most unpredictable section of the MCAT. I've been scoring between 85-100% (0 or 1 wrong) on the TPRH verbal passages, and as this seems too high for just starting out, I was wondering what the correlation between TPRH and the real MCAT is. Thanks!

From the consensus of this forum, it seems that next to actual AAMC provided verbal passages (full lengths, MCAT Assessment package) TPRH is the best representation of what you will expect to see on the real deal.

Usually verbal practice passages are ranked:

AAMC > TPRH > EK101 > TBR >>>> Kaplan

Ah alright thanks! I will be staying far far away from Kaplan then haha.

Also, in your opinion, are the MCAT Assessment packages worth getting? I'll already be doing the AAMC FLs, of course, but I'm not too sure on the assessment packages.

I would think it depends on how long you have to prepare for the test. All the FL, EK101, and TPRH verbal materials should last you a decent amount of time (if 2-3 passages are used everyday it can last close to 3 months). Anything provided by AAMC would be good preparation seeing that they are the ones designing the test.

I guess I'll decide as I get further along and see if I need some more prep material haha. Thanks for your help!
