I took lots of online classes for general electives requirement to graduate.

This semester i am taking anatomy, nutrition, weather studies online. Will dental schools look at me funny for taking online classes. or do they prefer me to take regular classes

most schools do not accept online classes prerequisites. I personally didn't spend time time prereqs online because of that reason.

Im sure you're other classes like weather and nutrition can be taken online because they aren't prereqs.

Some say it's ok some say it's not. I would say it isn't wise, but you can always call the schools you want to apply to ask what they require.

It depends on what the classes say on your transcript. If the online classes are put into the transcript like regular classes then you are ok.

Since some ds have reservations about courses at a CC it is hard to image them getting too excited about online courses.

I'm currently working on a post-bac at UF in microbiology and I had the same question initially. I called 25 dental schools and inquired if they had any issue with online courses. All stated that they only had issues with pre-req's due to the potential for online labs, so as long as the lab is live it was stated they did not care. (My program has live labs at a UF facility, so that's not a problem for me).

Ironically enough, UF's dental school stated they did not care for online courses......😕

Don't do it. How will a school know if you really took the course? They'll think you paid one of your buddies..

I am pretty sure they do not want you taking science classes online.

Good question. I just recently talked with a few dental schools about this exact question. I haven't taken any pre req courses online but a few general classes. The admissions department said they dont care at all unless it's pre req courses. Obviously I feel personally too many online courses could look alittle shady but a few generals online no big deal. I would not how ever take any pre req courses online.

So UF's Dental School won't care if I had already taken English 1 online for my prereq?

I would avoid online classes
