I love that clip. Pro riders never give up. Their hands don't come off the grips until they hit the ground. Balls of pure steel.

Hey all
Every time I watch that clip, I still get the chills. I haven't got into street bikes... yet, I've always been an off-road kind a guy. I love my raptor, my 250, and 125, but I'm sure that when I get a chance I'll get a street bike. In fact, I've been checkin' out the Honda CBR1000RR for a while. My buddy at the dealership let me take an 04 for a rip around the city, and damn... what a ride.

2005 honda CBR1000RR for less than 4G's... I think I may be in trouble.
If the bike don't kill me, I'm sure the fiancee will.

Less than 4 g's... 😱 That's a deal man. At the very least, buy it, ride it for a little while (ie. the summer), then sell it for $7,000-it's worth at least that.
I'm about to pick up a 2003 GSX-R 750 (white on blue with white wheels and a bunch of sweet modifications- k&N, yosh, flush lights, etc, etc.)- I've been having fantasies about that bike for 3 years now. I'm looking at $6,000 with 7500 miles on it. I freakn' love that bike! If I had the money though, I'd get a 748 Ducati Monoposto. Check this bad boy out:

Nice Ducati. I like the 999 superbike.
Anyhow, I already bought the bike, and have had an offer of 8 G's for it... all within a two day span. This thing is a handful, and handles like a friggin lexus.
Good luck with the gixxer... nice bike.

Make sure you guys buy protective gear

jacket, gloves, pants, and boots.

When (not if) you go down, you will thank the lucky stars that you are wearing your gear.

Ahhh... doubling your money in 2 days by Ivspro... That has a nice ring to it.

Super sweet dude 😀

👍

Absolutely with you. I was thankful for wearing gear doing my one and only wreck. Front flip over my handlebars. 35 to 0 in about two seconds.... and in Saint Martin, there are no good hospitals near by- if you get messed up, you get evac to florida which could = valuable time. Gear is just as important as the bike, especially if you are into acrobatics when you wipe out.

It comes with a few things. I'll post the pics of the bike and the gear below.
Those guys with hyabusas on the rock are friggin fearless.

Moderators, please shut down this thread.

Cuz its getting Jet itchy about bikes again.

Ahhh, memories of flying past a cuppla cars on I-49 on my blue-and-silver Hayabusa at 150mph... 😱

Wife in car: "Honey, did you just hear something loud?"

Dude driving car: "Sure did! Don't see anything though."

"Must've been a low flying plane."

Sold the Hayabusa a cuppla years ago, Sevo.

HEY TRIN, remember the BUSA??!!

I actually LOVED the bike.

Started gettin' pretty good on it, feelin' comfortable....

never laid it down, and I guess I sold it because I knew I liked pushing the envelope...I mean, gimme a break....what sane dude does 150mph on a motorcycle??? But the bike was so stable...could hit 100mph in second gear, and as you rice-rocket (like that, Mil??!!) lovers out there know, 100mph on a big crotch-rocket feels like you're doing 55.

Then I decided one day I needed to start doing wheelies.

Started slow in the local high school parking lot...picked it up pretty quick...and before ya know it I'm poppin' wheelies after taking off from a red light, pulling out in front of the traffic...

then one night I kinda had a moment of clarity, knowing full-well that the way I was riding the bike I was eventually gonna bite-it.

And riding a GSXR-1300 like a grandma just wasnt me. Those bikes arent made to ride 65mph.

The feel of acceleration can only be achieved if youre gettin'-on-it.

But I didnt wanna crash...something I felt was eventually inevitable.

So I sold it.

Sure was fun, though.

Since the motorcycle thread popped back up.......

I just confirmed that my last hurrah before residency begins will be a three day party in the Tuscan hillside with rabid Italian motorcycle fans. That's right. I'll be in Mugello for the MotoGp race in two weeks! Followed by an excursion around Italy and Greece. SWEET! They say the bikes are so loud you can hear them well enough to distinguish the Ducati from the Kawisaki from 10 km away.

Life is good, at least until July 1. Mugello here I come! 😀

This thread sounds like a good place for the classic article The Pace. Great reading for anyone who rides on the street.

lvspro, that is a screaming deal you got on the cbr100rr. My ride's an SV650S. I swapped for a few miles with a buddy the other day who's got a 2006 cbr600rr and now I've got to keep telling myself, "don't join the dark side. The SV is enough." A 16K redline was intoxicating. Although, I did found the bike a bit uncomfortable for long periods. I'd much rather be on my SV for anything over 45 minutes.

Nah.

I like to fish.

Robalo center console with a bimini top, livewell, Lowrance GPS/depth & fishfinder, VHF radio, etc.

Nice boat.

Went fishing off belleville lake on memorial weekend, and caught a 20 in walleye. Ole' marble-eyes were biting at the pink and oranges that day with a bottom bouncer/crawler harness presentation using a leech as bait. I caught a few more, 2 keepers, and one tossback. Not too shabby for a 4 hour fishing trip.
