Hello all,

I tried to look for this and may have just missed it but had a question for you. I accidently assigned the wrong PS to several of my prelim. year programs but before it was sent out I realized it, made some changes, and submitted the new PS to the programs before they were uploaded to any of them. However, upon looking, it looks like they received BOTH PS's. Did I do something wrong here? I didn't see an option to "deselect" a PS, only an option to select my new one. Also, does this tick programs off to see two slightly different PS's? It's no secret i will be doing Anesthesia but want to make sure that they know I want their IM prelim. year as well. Sorry for the long winded statement.

We can only see the last PS you sent. I guess that ERAS will simply send both PS's, and the second will wipe out the first before we get a chance to read it at all.

I have a similar thing going on with one of my programs, except that I didn't change anything in my application. But everything is listed twice, with two different download dates and times. I figure it's a computer system error of some sort, because I haven't seen it happen with any other program.

On a somewhat related note, I submitted my application last week and most of my programs have already downloaded everything currently available, including my personal statement. I'm considering modifying my personal statement and submitting a different one instead. Will programs look down on this, especially if they've already read my first PS? If I change my PS, will programs automatically disregard the first one and just read the second one?

If you send a new PS, it will replace the old one. If a program has not printed out your PS yet, then the new one will simply replace the old one and nobody will be the wiser. If they did print it out, the new one will be flagged to be printed. I doubt they will throw away your old one. I certainly wouldn't. I'd review both PS's and see what you changed.
