Did you both visit AT Still? I've never been near there and was wondering if it is a big campus or small building type? I would hate to enroll at AT Still and find this little building by itself in the middle of nowhere. haha

Isn't it nerve wrecking to make a final decision!?

I visited the campus when I had an interview at AT Still. I liked the campus a lot. It is not your traditional campus. The building is almost brand new and the equiptment is new and only for the audiology students, which is nice. They do not have a clinic on site, so they place you in rotations around the phoenix area starting your first semester (which I see as a plus). The campus is in Mesa, AZ.. which is really part of the Phoenix Metro Area. It is not in the middle of nowhere... by any means. I was impressed with the faculty and how organized everything was.

Another unique thing about AT Still is that it was not matured from a Masters program, it started by offering the AuD. There are only graduate students on campus, no undergrads. The lecture halls are nice and ver high tech, over all it is a beautiful campus.
If you have any other questions, let me know.
Thanks!

Thanks for the great info, eardocsavvy! I'm actually considering applying to a few AuD programs in AZ (ASU and U of A) and was just curious about AT Still. Maybe I'll apply there as soon as I learn more about them. ASHA's EdFind program search didn't help out much. Would you mind if I sent you a private message about what AT Still looks for in future AuD students and plus more about their program?

Of course, I am not a current student so I will try my best. I will be attending the school in August 2010.
Thanks

Tomorrow is officially April 15, 2010.
Your final decision is to be made by tomorrow. Good luck with everyone who is still contemplating - its so difficult to make this decision, I know!

Hopefully by tomorrow, we can see if any of us are going to be potential classmates ;)

hi socalaud! i actually interviewed on campus and it was really nice! the campus is pretty much one large building, but you have to keep in mind that all the students here are graduate students. i think most programs that you apply to will have a single building that you will be taking your classes in even if it's at a major university.

overall, i really liked the faculty at AT Still and everything is really up-to-date. Definitely keep this school in mind. I've contacted some of the current students and heard nothing but good things from them so far. I will be starting the program here this Fall.

also, just wanted to let you know that I also grew up in Fullerton. I went to school there from K-12.... just wondering, which high school did you attend?

AUD09, thanks for the response! I'll def keep AT Still in mind.

And I'm only living in Fullerton because of CSUF. I'm actually from the Inland Empire and grew up there. :) Did you attend CSUF, too? Only 3 or 4 students rom CSUF within the last 4 years have gone towards the audiology and well, the rest went to SLP. lol

no i didn't attend CSUF, but I had a lot of friends that attended that school. wow, i'm surprised only 3 or 4 students in the past 4 years have gone towards audiology. i wonder why...

anyways, keep in contact and if you have any more questions, please ask! good luck with your studies!

I think the audiology professor there (there's only one) scared the rest away. lol And thank you! You too!

I have been accepted to ATSU as well. I have had a three year experience with other programs at the same school, as my wife is a med student there. I know ATSU well, but will be experiencing the Au.D. program for the first time in the fall.

My father-in-law is a math professor at CSUF. He would tell you to go to ATSU. :)
