I'm actually freaking out righ tnow

I took an AAMC today

I did worse than I've ever done. This was after a week of hitting TBR hard

10/13/8; down from a 13/13/12 I've seen a week prior... and my typical average. This score only looks good because Verbal kept me up

The first AAMC I took which was before any content review was better than that too [better in PS and BS, worse in verbal]

And for some reason when I was taking the test, I was so confused, especially in the BS section

I noticed in PS I made more bad mistakes than I had ever done before

I'm contemplating now moving my test

I've also taken the free online Gold Standard exam and didn't do so well

I'm going to go kill myself right now, what just happened in BS after I spent so long only hitting on it. I feel like I just wasted all my time

[Okay not actually going to kill myself]

But it's really disappointing

Do you take break days? Because decreasing scores is probably a sign of burnout. You may need a break. When is your test?

Unfortunately that's what I was thinking may have happened

I basically cut myself off from everything, haven't been going out, watching TV, none of that stuff; at the start of this month and took things to overdrive. This week I may have overexerted myself or something, doing 100 straight TBR passage questions and then another 100 straight right after that and whatnot.

I don't know

it's just scary now since my test is on August 2nd.

I'm just going to take tomorrow off

Definitely take a day off. There's practice and then there's what you are doing. Restart on Sunday with light practice and Monday as well before trying another FL. Good luck!

So you think studying made you worse at the MCAT? Clearly the problem is something outside of that.

It's a sign of fatigue. Proper sleep and diet are crucial to your testing endeavors. Exercise is also very, very helpful. I'd retain more with three hours of studying after a run than five hours of studying straight while eating cake and drinking coffee.

Go exercise. Run a mile if you don't feel like working out. That might take 20 mins of your time but it will benefit you more than you think. If running isn't your thing (I am not a big fan myself) then just go play some basketball or something.
