hey guys,
i just got a letter saying i was on this list. i called and found out that so are 115 others. i know the class size is 80, so i was wondering if anyone had any experience with tamu waitlist movement or knew anything about it. ranked? unranked? any suggestions? thanks

I just got my letter too and am on the waitlist. Did they say if the list was ranked?

mine didnt say anything about rankings. anyone else?

the list is ranked. if you call admissions to review your file (i.e. your strength, weakness) they will tell you where you fall, approximate percentage-wise.

has anyone had any luck doing this? i called the TAMU admissions office earlier this week and they said that they haven't ranked the waitlist people yet, and that since they didnt release waitlist ranks last year, that they would not be doing it this year either. anyone have luck?

How did you guys reply? And did you submit a FAFSA?

I would wait to file the fafsa b/c they have a emergency fund if you get in at the last min. I was waitlisted on the previous term.
Maldonado said that the interview weighed pretty heavily on your ranking. Good luck.

Are you at A&M now? And why wait on filing a FAFSA?

was wondering if anyone tried calling A&M and asking about their rank status? anyone have any luck finding out? good luck you guys!!!

DrMed, Someone earlier said they had called. I called as well. They will look at the 115 again in March, reevaluate everyone. They will not let you know where you are on the list.

You can do the fafsa if you want. but if you don't get in, it'll be a waste of time.

No I'm not at a/m. I'm a reapplicant.

So in my hands is statistics on the 2003 entering class at TAMU.

Total Applicants: 1685
Total Interviewed: 514
Acceptances offered: 280
Matched: 62
MSS Matriculated: 11 (anyone who knows what this please tell me)
PCC Matriculated: 2 (again what is this)
MD/PHD: 3
Applicants Deferred: 3
Advanced STanding: 1

Anyone know anything? The admissions office tell me no one was accepted off the wait list last year, but then Md2banthony says he was accepted off the list last year. There have been a couple of people on SDN that say they have withdrawn from TAMU this year, yet the admissions office says they will not be taking anyone off their alternate list.

Can someone shead some light on this for me? 😕

I just called TAMU. The situation is this-- they over accept by 10 people each year, so 11 people have to withdraw in order for the first person to get accepted off of the alternate list. They said they've already extended one offer off of the alt list this year, but they don't plan on making anymore...BOO!

Thanks! I wish they would just be up front about the whole thing the first time I asked back in Feburary! Well I didn't get the call so it's not me! Thanks Ford!

Anyone get off the list? I'm screwed now if they call and offer me a spot anyway.

Well, we can close this one out. I just confirmed on the phone with TAMU, class is full and all parties reported for white coat yesterday. This sux!
