JALBY: Step I (Post here)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
So the past 2.5 years of my life has been spent focusing on this day. Overall, I though I did pretty well and I went through med school exactly how I should have. The only thing I wish I studied a little bit more was muscle fibers, but I got lucky guessing on those. I think I studied correctly, and the only thing I would have done different was not read Robbins.

Now it is time to start reading for my surgery rotation, which I have first. I am terrified that I have this as my first rotation, and I also have to move during the middle of it. SO I?m planning on going to the beach, relaxing, and when board reading a surgery book. Good luck to everybody who is still studying, and I hope to see you guys in the clinical forum. Of course, while I?m in surgery you won?t see much of me.

Good job man! I'm really impressed that you were able to plan and follow through w/ the last 2.5 years so that you would KNOW that you did your best! WAY TO GO!!! I too have surgery first...I'm using Essentials of General Surgery, and Surgical Recall...

Nice Job, Jalby.

Per your post, it appears that you feel you missed 3-4 questions total.

Nice Job, Jalby! 🙄

jalby, what do you wanna go into, that you've sacrificed so much to rock step 1?

My goal as a doctor has always been simple. I want to live on the beach, have a wife 15 years younger than me, and have floor level Lakers season tickets. I don't think that is to much to ask.

Thanks for all of the well wishes guys. Definately been quite an experience with all you guys. When I imagined this moment 2.5 years ago, you guys were all so boring. But I must say you are a lot funnier than I thought you all would be in this forum. Alright, time for my 18 hour nap.

i'm with you on the lakers tix bro, i'll see you there. although the Staples center just doesn't have the same ring as the Great Western Forum did...

We're still waiting for a few pretest pics... 👍
I tried to attach them but they are to large. I'll see what I can do.

CONGRATS JALBY!

i'm sure you totally kicked some serious a$$. it's so weird to see all of us little kids who used to be swapping info on waitlists now taking the freaking USMLE. anyway, thanks for this very informative post. i will definitely refer to it when i start studying for my boards.

take care!

Thanks. I would also recommend Bigfranks post. I thought it was pretty good. And if you go to last years thread on how people did, there was some HMS guy near the end that did an amazing post. It might have been the people who score above 250 thread. Good luck once you take it.

Jalby,

When do you get your results? I've been lurking in this thread for months learning from The Gods how to ace the USMLE step I. I don't even start til August, but have heard so much about how impt the step I scores are.

thanks in advance,
franklin

I donno. I have heard I get them in the next two weeks. But there is a big possability that I won't be able to post them on here right away. I'm on Trauma Surgery at County-USC, which is probably one of the most active rotations in the country. Right now we are the number one county center west of the mississippi. (I'm not sure exactly who is number one in the east. We might have the lead)
