good start.....i know i strted research early on and it was really exciting....until well everything else comes into play. 2-3 years down the road and you might still like it but you may not be as optimistic. just a caveat.

I second that comment! If your only a freshman you have a long ways to go. I don't want to put a damper on your parade, but the next four years are not going to be all fun and games. A piece of advice though, a positive attitude can be a huge benifit in this game so keep it up.

Come on little newbie, I basically have the equivalent of a master's degree in organic synthesis. I know you have no idea what that is but that means you need to do research for 3 years (and I'd still consider myself a research lightweight)... LOL, your posts are so funny. You just remind me of some wide-eyed country girl going into the "big city" for the first time. You really have yet to experience what research is, but thats okay, I won't burst your bubble. It's just funny to see some guy at a mediocre school getting his ego all inflated off of most likely crunching numbers as a lab slave. And YES, as a freshman. LOL.

Oh god, mention WashU in front of SLU people and they get really huffy. THEN, they pull out the whole "well, we were the first university founded west of the mississippi" card to counteract that. That way then can say they set the bar for WashU.

I must admit SLU people have alot of school pride even though they are really pompous about it.
