Is there a way to have a thread on each school individually and all information pertaining to that school, applicant stats, information of any kind relating to that school and the applicants applying there to post in that thread? It will give more concise, easier to find/navigate information for us.

For example, have a sticky thread that doesn't move and within that thread have a thread on each school where we can post about that school. I think it can be an excellent tool for us.

I agree. Most people have no information on most of the schools they applied. They are going blindly into dentistry.

Too difficult. People would clutter the sticky with a bunch of stupid questions and tangents. Plus, if there was a sticky for every school, the entire first page of the pre-dent forum would be stickies for schools.

But if someone can figure out a good system, I'm all for it. I think it would be a great idea. You'd need a moderator who would delete obtuse or irrelevant comments in an effort to keep the discussion uncluttered.

make a thread for each d-school out there in the pre-dent forum and make sub-threads within each thread with classifications like admissions related questions, tuition-related, location, etc etc...but then there must be some miscellaneous stuff...too many categories.
the webmaster must have thought of it before.

or maybe we can have threads and categorize schools. for example have the northeast school in one group and the southeast schools in another. since the major of people did apply to schools in a certain region of the united states and not all over the place.

i thought about a threat for each d-school..but it will get really messy b/c u might ask the same questions for several schools..and it'd be a pain to ask the same question in several diff threads.

anyone..goin back to another wishful thought: if ppl are comfortable posting their Stats on the Stats page, i think they might as well post it in their signature (i know some ppl have), so that we don't have to search back for their stats and certainly so that ppl dont' need to ask "what are your stats"...

What if we had a sticky and inside that sticky had all the states the schools are in, then from there the schools in that state. If it were to work you would need some heavy moderating to make sure that it was kept "pure" without a bunch of useless posts. There could be rules just as there are for SDN with a list of things that can be posted in there. It would be a big admin nightmare for the moderators for a little while until most of us understood those rules and kept each other in check.

Just thinking out loud.

I agree that there needs to be a way for people to post what stats get accepted at which schools. As it is now you have to look at the interview list and then go back to the stats thread to look up each person individually. Let's streamline!

I second that.

please make it happen moderators!!!

This isn't a bad idea. Now to make the network administrators and moderators take us seriously we should each donate some generous amount to SDN **wink, wink, nudge, nudge.**

I like the idea too. If needed, I can help maintenance some portions of the site.

especially since ppl are getting accepted..i think this would help us a lot! 👍

Right now there are four dental forums: Dental, Pre-Dental, International Dental, and DAT. Why not add another forum, and make stickies for each of the 54 dental schools?

Note: Moderators, that was not a rhetorical question.
