Sending transcripts to UCBSO

On the UCBSO’s website, it stated that tracnsripts must be sent directly from schools. Yet, on the transcript request form, it stated that "We prefer that you include official transcripts of all work with your application. If that is not possible, complete this form..."
Which one should I follow?
I have already sent one set (in the originally sealed envelopes) of transcripts from my address before I noticed that transcripts must be sent directly from schools. Do I really need to submit another set directly from schools?

they accept it either way. last year i sent mine through the school, but they will take it in the envelope as well. to be sure u can call the admissions office and talk to sharmila or alberto, they are both nice people.
