Has anyone heard anything about Baylor? Anyone interviewed there or a resident willing to comment on Baylor.

interviewed there; my brief notes...
Big on people doing well on boards... impressed with Q bank for frequently missed material and key words. Emphasize fellowships; very nice ones by the current residents, but then again, they aren't that hard to come by in anesthesia. Nice Staff. The PD wants to elevate Baylor to "east coast" status. Discourages moonlighting. mostly free books. do most of residency at Ben Taub; county hospital. Good volume, lots of trauma. Supposedly, the split with Methodist won't be a big deal to the anesthesia dept b/c it is supposed to be able to keep their only rotation there; hearts. Also has lots of CRNA's and SRNA's. Residents claim that MD's get the good cases without a fight; SRNA's might beg to differ. Maybe most importantly, the residents all seemed very happy.
