Horror story...

So I called Arizona a week ago to ask about my app status. They said I withdrew the app...which I never did. They said there were 2-3 emails sent for interviews and that I had not responded so they withdrew my app. I never recieved any of these emails...i get all emails...none of them go to junk folder. I asked her what my options were and basically she said I was out of luck because the interviews are almost all given out etc etc. I would have rather gone to Arizona than NYU(accepted) because its cheaper and closer to home. SHIiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!!!!!

One more question...does Arizona also write to tell you about acceptance or do they just email?

omg. is there any way for u to refute this? I have to agree that there should have been a paper letter sent to u in order to protect their butts bc ppl should know that sending and receiving emails is no sure thing... they do get lost. If i were u, i would give seriously give them hell for it bc you DID ur part sending them a check to FAIRLY review ur app and they must have found u qualified to offer an interview invite. geesh. i best do the same and doublecheck. when did u send in ur app?

I sent in the secondary in early december i believe. I will call tomorrow for details on what went wrong...i was just too stunned when they first told me to ask details.

This is just another example of why you should contanct schools on a regular basis to check the status of your application.

Just be glad you're going to dental school! yes this is crappy that Arizona dissed you, but again you're starting in september. I don't feel one bit sad for you!

i mean...if WE did get into d-school...it would suck too
OR...one of our schools could've "supposedly" sent us an invite..but it too, got lost in the mail (i would think that would be the case for tufts and howard...since they haven't said a thing to be for a very long time, and i haven't been able to inquire about my status)...so we could've been dissed that way as well.

anyhooo...if i didn't incessantly call NYU, i woudln't have gotten my letter telling me i was waitlisted...(they had to fax it)...till this day, i still haven't gotten the paper copy.
not like i need it or anything 👎

The same exact thing happened to me with my UCLA application. I was completely flipping out. They withdrew my app because I never replied to the emails inviting me for an interview that they claim they sent me. I never got the emails. I found out about this in January, so I was able to get an interview but it was very late. This whole experience was very frustrating grrrrrrr.

what about schools like Tufts that refuse to give you any information when you call....? 😕
since they asked me to send in my cheque, i haven't heard anything from them...... 🙁

Absolutely. Arizona had approximately 2,500 applications this year. Candidates need to contact the schools, not the other way around.
