Let's get an idea of how many schools all of you guys applied to or are planning to apply to this application cycle.

This is for the entering class of 2006 (Class of 2010 except for UOP)

So far.. the majority is between 7 and 20 schools applied to.. wow.. big $$$ 😱

😀 Applied to one....got into one...gotta love the state schools...
don't mind me...husband has over night call so I'm home eating cheesecake and drinking a whole bottle of champaign.

Not to worry...I watch my portions...after a diet of only protien, spinach salads, and yogurt, green tea and water, I deserve a little cheese!

Based on the number of applications and the number of enrollees in the 2006-2007 Official Guide to Dental Schools, I figured out this much:

This is an estimate as it is based on data from two different years but is better than no info...

Entering class of 2004-2005 had 9433 applicants and 4612 enrolled.

74062 applications were filled out for the entering class of 2005-2006.

Based on these two numbers we can approximate an average of 8 schools applied to with an acceptance rate of 47% overall. Pretty competetive!
