how was Davis when you visited? I am debating going or not for an interview in Jan.
I expected to be neutral, and I genuinely liked it. My interviewer blew me out of the water. You should go. It's a short drive for us.
yeah. in state tuition and a mess of student run clinics are both cool
plus Davis has Rock It! at the Graduate. which is almost as epic as Leisure at Annie's Social Club.

Well they do have the JMP MS/MD with UCSF where you can do 3 years at Cal and then 2 at UCSF.
and it would never happen...isn't berkeley just full of those "hippies" who don't believe in "western medicine" ?

When did your apps got completed? I love Davis and am hoping to get an interview invite, but it may not happen seeing it's getting pretty late.
My interview was Oct. 4. I don't really remember when I was complete. It may in in my mdapps.

Cuz UCSF used to be UCB's medical school and for a variety of reasons neither wanted to move closer to the other and so ended up splitting in the 50's.

Be patient. Much of the interviewing has been slowed down this year with the move of the whole medical school to Sacramento. So it is definitely not too late.
Davis is in cow country. Mooooooooooo.

And besides, I know someone who interviewed in march last year and got accepted. So it can't be too late for an interview. At least that's what I'm hoping for because I would give anything for a little Davis love.

Seriously, I am happy for you guys. At least you'll get one semester without breaking your back in there. I can't wait to see the new building next week... if they let us out to go to the opening that is 🙂
And yes, Davis is notorious for interviewing until late in the cycle. I would not be surprised if it goes even later this year given the move and pushing much of the interviewing back.

I interviewed in mid-October and when the 4-6 week deadline came and went, I called Terri at Davis and she told me that the decisions for December's Adcom meeting would be sent out before the New Year...
Nice! Any idea by what method? (here's praying for email - I'll be out of the country 21-31 and very neurotic about it otherwise... I really liked Davis)

Dopamine, I'm almost positive Terri said all acceptances are by phone. Everything else (waitlist, hold, reject) is done by e-mail.

I didn't ask her how we would be notified... she sounded a little annoyed to be talking to me (almost like she had been waiting on me to make a 4-6 week deadline that I had committed to) so I didn't pester her. Funny how that works.
I do vaguely remember my interviewer saying something about a phone call though...
Hopefully the information I got was right, Davis is really high on my list and waiting is gonna drive me to a quart-a-day whiskey habit.

I hope you're right, Cal06!!! Terri definitely told my group that acceptances were phone calls. So i REALLY hope we get calls in the next few weeks.
Davis is definitely one of my top choices as well... i LOVED it! good luck to us!!

Good luck everyone! Just a note, phone calls can be from admissions or your student interviewer too, so watch out for weird unknown numbers if you have caller ID.
And I'd highly recommend coming back and looking at the new building since it's open now.

yeah, i would imagine they are closed next week. but i'm also trying not to expect anything this week. Davis seems to take their time and I know they are in the midst of their move, so that may delay things even more. i would really like news before the end of the new year (has anyone confirmed this recently with Terri though??) ugh. please, Davis, just let us know already!

How's about a pact (I'm probably jinxing myself even suggesting this). For peace-of-mind's sake, how about as soon as someone hears from Davis, they post it to the forum. Don't worry about bragging, I think everyone on egg shells would appreciate the knowledge that the decision is on its way.

i think only one person posting above said they got in. the other person was just saying that they would post any news. Has anyone else heard anything? i got nervous this morning when Terri sent that email about the move to Sacramento and the new address!
I am on pins and needles too! No word yet. I know what you mean about the email this morning. I read it and thought, I hope you received my AMCAS since I've already interviewed.
I interviewed in mid-October, I wonder if the one acceptance was for an earlier interview? I tell you, its like when you are first trying to catch someone's eye, Davis is playing hard-to-get and its making me want a spot at their school even more!

But they are opening up a new education building by the hospital to bring all 4 years of students together. The Grad would be a 20 minute drive down I-80.

I posted this in another thread, but even though its not great news, I have to stay true to the pact:
