These are the threads I find most useful as a MS0 evaluating potential schools.
Help us out, and vent your rage!
Future med students thank you.

Hate is a strong word. At NYU in my opinion the worst things are 1) it can be tempting to never leave the bubble of the medical center, since most everyone lives inside a dorm attached to the med center and 2) the subway is a pretty decent walk away (encouraging one to stay within the bounds of Murray Hill, not a bad thing necessarily, but something to keep in mind).

The parking garage is pretty far away, but the most irritating thing is that they're going to start making us swipe our ID cards to "prove" we were at mandatory events. C'mon. We're mostly over 23 years old. Do we really need babysitters?

Honestly, I hate having to do a bunch of stuff that I really don't want to do so that I can do a little of what I really want to (e.g., talk/treat patient 30 minutes for every 2-3 hours of paperwork, calling people, double checking that stuff got done, looking up and copying down labs, scut, scut, scutty-scut-scut). It's annoying and over time it wears on you and makes you pissed off at the whole thing.

Other than that, medicine is wicked fun.

holy shmolly!
don't even get me started on that!
I study medicine in Québec city, Canada:
I hate the fact that i got to sit 6 hours everyday of the week in a non-ventilated auditorium along with 250 other ppl, getting fed a gigantic amount of information from the most boring, pedagogically clueless doctors out there.
I hate most of the other students in my class afflicted with the worst cases of OCD, always stressed up to the bones and whining when they get less than A+. You can recognize them easily taking part of the herd assaulting the poor teacher for an hour straight at the end of the class, reviewing EACH AND EVERY PAGE of notes for questions they could have answered themselves if they had thought about it for more than 0 seconds.
I hate the fact that you spend three quarters of your practice doing paperwork for the sole purpose of backing your **** up in case of lawsuits.
I hate the fact that 95% of your patients are old crooks fueled by 15 different drugs that would die within hours if they were to stop taking them. Even though medicine is supposed to add life to one's days, most of the time it just adds days to one's life.
I hate when people you just met for the first time at the bar, the bus, the beach, learn that you're a medical students and ask you about their uncle's rash or the prognosis of their 3rd degree cousin's cancer.
BUT WORST OF ALL , I hate the fact that there is SO MUCH PRESSURE on your shoulders, wether it be from your family, good friends, or even people you barely know, telling you that they can't wait for you to be done with med school so you can be their own personal pocket doctor, or to borrow money because "you will be a millionaire".. riiiight. Ladies and gentlemen, hear me and hear me well.. once you enter medical school. YOU CANNOT QUIT. it's just so hard to enter the program and there is just so much pressure that it is IMPOSSIBLE TO QUIT.

woah, that was good.
thx

I don't like OSU's library, because I like studying in a small room, not in a big group of people at tables. And it's freezing cold in there. Also, the parking situation sucks at the beginning of the year, I got stranded on main campus because I didn't realize the bus to my lot stopped running after 7 PM. Driving back and forth also wastes time and gas 🙁
