Ok so I have a Kaplan book, and since I hear so many good things about Achiever and Destroyer..I'l probably purchase those two items as well...

but the quesiton is...where do i begin?? like how do you guys suggest I start studying?/ should I just go through the entire kaplan book each subject at a time, and then start practicing kaplan practice questions folllowed by destroyer and achiever... or should i switch it up from subject to subject...

i'm just so lost!! if you could help me, i would be really grateful!

ps--whats the best way to study for the PAT?

it really depends on the amount of time you have, and how prepared are you at each subject at this moment

let's say i'm starting from scratch....how would you go about making it to the top... i have time ...like beg of november...december...

Hokay. Start with Kaplan. Go through the book, take notes on the sciences(I split my notes into three notebooks, one per science). Take all Kaplan-related practice tests(if youre taking to class) and make note of the questions and explanations for those questions that you miss. Supplement with Examkrackers Bio(very good for systems) and Cliffs AP Bio(good for all those things taht Kaplan is sadly lacking).

Do Topscore first, and again, take notes on the things you miss(put the bio missed questions into your bio notebook, chem into chem, and so forth).

You can buy Destroyer at this point and start wading through it. Its pretty tough, so you will be able to tell the things you suck at and need to reread, and the things youre alright at.

Do Achiever while going through Destroyer, and use the same taking notes method on missed questions that you've been using all along.

Read everything a million times. I'm serious. I mustve read Destroyer cover to cover fifty times, my science notes easily double that. Make up mnemonics for the stuff thats hard to remember, and test yourself on things that require straight memorization(Use blank sheets of paper and see if you can write it out verbatim, its what I did).

Make math formula sheets, and copy these onto index cards to take to the center with you. Stare at them over your 15 minute break.

It sounds tedious, but it can be done in under 2 months. I actually did BS studying for about a month and a half and did all of the above in 6 weeks.

Be prepared to sacrifice sleep-but it all pays off in the end. Any more questions, PM me.

Good luck:luck:

that's awesome and do-able! lol thanks a lot!!.. any ideas on how to nail the PAT section???

I guess just practice.Buy Barrons-the sciences are full of errors, but I've heard the PAT is good.
I pretty much gave up on PAT halfway through studying because I've always been of the mindset when it comes to standardized tests, after a point anyway, that I cant make myself amazing at something I suck at, and so its better to spend most of my time on something I can already do well , and make myself awesome at it. Hence the 6 point discrepancy between my AA and PAT scores:laugh:

thank you very much!
i will post a new PAT thread lol

good luck with everything... i really appreciate the help!
