Hello Everyone,
I interviewed there last week. There are three 30-minute interviews. Each interviewer has a distinguished role. The first interviewer asked a lot of questions (generic questions from a sheet-at least 100 questions to pick from), the second interview was conversationally based, the third interviewer asked questions pertaining to my personal information (grades, clubs, etc). There were no difficult questions. Everyone was extremely friendly. Megan Price is amazing. The most difficult question I was asked was: "describe a difficult problem that you solved with satisfaction." Know yourself very well and know why you want to be an osteopathic physician. There will be down time with other interviewees (in between interviews); do not make stupid conversation. I was under the impression that they could hear a lot of what was being said... I don't think they listen to our conversations on purpose, but the conference room is situated in between Mrs. Price's office and many of the administrators.... other than that, relax. You're almost there! Oh yea, be yourself!

I was asked why VCOM by all 3 interviewers. 2 in particular were interested because I'm from Philadelphia where we have 5 medical schools (PCOM, Drexel, Temple, Penn, and Jefferson) and 7 in the entire state. I was asked a bit about healthcare, nothing too taxing on my brain but I did have to think. This is probably going to be the most relaxed interview of the season. Lunch was really good! The tour was alright. Definitely ask questions. The admissions staff was really nice.

No problem. It was a perfect day: mid 70's, sun, people all over the VT campus, not a lot of traffic, great interviewees.

I interview on 11/18/08 and found out today 11/20/08 at 1:20pm via a telephone call that I was accepted! 🙂🙂🙂😍
My application was received by VCOM 10/06/08 and I sent in my secondary about a week later.
My application was COMPLETE on 10/17/08.
I got a call for an interview on 10/21/08 and the earliest date available to interview was 11/18/08.
The turn around between interview and notice of acceptance isn't always that fast. It depends on when the committee meets and I just ended up with a lucky interview date! 😍
My stats are:
University of Virginia Class of 2009 (although I am graduating a year earlier...I am supposed to be graduating in 2010). with a B.S. in Biology.
My gpa is 3.2 and my MCAT is PS10 VR10 BS8 WS0 (i assume the reason my BS was so low is because my particular MCAT was loaded with Organic Chemisty passages....which I never did well on!)
I volunteer at a rescue squad where I put in about 17 hours a week and I am really not into other extracurricular activities. I teach swimming lessons and tennis lessons.
I loved EVERYTHING about VCOM and there mission seems to be in line with mine. Currently there is no foreseeable reason why I wouldn't go there! I am absolutely beyond excited about it!

I've been on the SDN for the last couple of months, reading some everyday. I'm applying this next cycle for my first time, class of 2014.
Reading peoples acceptance posts makes it that much easier for me to sit down and study for the MCAT.
