Going to UMDNJ - Newark. I don't understand how I didn't get 2 of my choices above that though. I had U Mich and Penn State - Hershey ranked higher and both of those programs went unfilled. I even have a letter from the PSU program director stating I would be ranked very favorably. I wish NRMP would open the curtains to all this "logic" of the match. I bet we'd all be surprised to find it's a bunch of dart boards and our applications are the darts.

Louisville certainly didn't lie to me. Many phone calls telling me how much they'd like to have me there, etc. They were 4th on my list but oh well... It'll be an adventure.

To those who responded to my rant earlier... thanks. I called NRMP thinking "surely, there must be a mistake" when really "surely I must just be in denial." Hehe. Anyway, as the lady at NRMP said "you were not ranked in such a way to promote a match." Basically, you're all right, I was lied to, and that really burns me. I hate liars, I am almost tempted to email him back and call him out on it. Subject line: WTF?! Haha. Of course, professionalism will stop me from doing that, but the thought sure is tempting!

It can be frustrating, but unfortunately it is the way the game is played. Programs lie and tell everyone that they are ranked high. I would just let it be as you don't want to burn any bridges before even entering the field. Congrats on the match though.

Just mail the letter back to him. You don't have to write anything else. Just place the letter in an envelope.

Sometimes professionalism can be supplanted by passive-aggressive behavior.
