Do you know what new pharmacy schools are opening up and what state?

Thanks.

Thomas Jefferson in Philadelphia starting their first class this fall.

Presbyterian College in northern South Carolina (for 2010, me thinks)

Two new schools planned for California: one at Merritt College in Oakland (expected to start enrolling students in 2011 -- they're searching for a dean right now) and another called Central California School of Pharmacy, in Fresno (opening in 2010).

College of Notre Dame (Baltimore, MD) will be opening in Fall, '09 (70 seats). Although a women's college, pharmD program will be co-ed.

Hmmm...think about THAT ratio guys!!!!!

It will be just about the same ratio for every other pharmacy school.

I also hear that University of Dallas is opening their pharmacy school in the near future. This is from Wikipedia.

In October 2007, the University of Dallas Board of Trustees affirmed the addition of a School of Pharmacy and has begun searching for a Dean of Pharmacy. The school is scheduled to open in the Fall of 2009. The new School of Pharmacy would be the eighth Catholic pharmacy school in the nation. Currently, accredited programs exist at Creighton University in Nebraska, Duquesne University in Pennsylvania, University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, St. John Fisher College in New York, St. John's University in New York, and Xavier University of Louisiana. Student reaction to the new School of Pharmacy ranged from open support to concern over maintaining the University's identity as a liberal arts institution.

Any word on if they are three year or four year schools?

I don't think so.

All the applicants who were pre-Pharm from that school will be female. Everybody knows that Rx schools favor their own students (however, some would have you believe otherwise). Combine that with the "normal" applicant pool (which is already "estrogen enhanced" 😀) and there are even more females applying.

I think the ratio of F to M would be higher than most. 👍👍
