So touro-ca started today and I didn't get to be there 🙁 Anyone else hoping for the early acceptance for next year?:luck:

I am a touro-CA applicant! whoop whoop. I wouldnt go as far as to say it is my first choice, but I'm sure diggin the Jewish holidays .

I am going to sit down tonight and write their secondary essay about life expereinces and characteristics, etc. etc. The good thing is that its almost identical to LECOM's secondary essay question.

I mailed my secondary in like 2 weeks ago. I should probably call and see if they got it. That'd be a good idea I think. I think it'd be pretty cool to be in that area. I really don't have too much of an opinion either way though. The Touros lack the brand name luster of some of the other schools. Doesn't mean it is a bad education...just don't hear as much about it compared to places like PCOM, KCOM, DMU, CCOM, etc.

They will send you a postcard when your application is complete.👍

They will even send you a postcard if you are missing stuff.

agreed about the reputation. However i havent heard too many excxiting things about Vallejo that would make me want to go there for school.

Nope. It'd be really early at this point. They are really getting into full swing with interviews now. My interview is the 15th.

Its going to be a busy week for me. I have an interview at NSU on the 11th. I drive back for class. Leave saturday and interview monday in cali. Fly back and take a quiz and exam then drive to bradenton for another interview. I need to get another shirt or two!

oh i was referring to early admission for those who were waitlisted for the class of 2012.

I just interviewed @ touro CA on 11/3/08. Both tour guides admitted they chose touro b/c they did not get in anywhere else. And THESE are the students chosen to act as ambassadors?

Does anyone out there know of a student who chose to go to tucom CA willingly or turned down other school to attend?

When I interviewed there the tour guide said he had other options other than Touro.

Touro-CA was the first/last school I interviewed at. I canceled my interviews at CCOM, AZCOM, PCOM, WVCOM. I'm sure the other schools are great, but given the opportunity to stay local in CA it was a no brainer for me.

And everyone I've talked to on campus seemed to like it, but I don't doubt that there are some who probably didn't have it as their #1. But that exists probably in every school. I have friends who went to med school at Cornell and some of their peers were b*%chin about how they didn't like it there and deserved to be at Harvard. Whatever. To each their own...

As a c/o 2012 student, I am here to say that our tour guides are not selected but are volunteers. I feel that some do it because they feel humbled to have been accepted and are happy to help out. (Tour guides miss class during their tour)

But then again, maybe they're just sadistic and enjoy having the opportunity to interview new applicants for the c/o 2014. =)

To Matlabsux, I interviewed and got accepted at 3 other schools in the East, but I chose Touro-CA. Having almost completed the first semester, I have no regrets thus far. I may be biased though, since I have been living in California.

I can also say for certain, their are several students who turned down MD schools to come here.
