I would consider this to be my first year applying to medical schools. I've only had an AAMC# since March and this is the first year that I've submitted a primary. When any school has asked whether or not I've applied before, I've said "no" without thinking twice. I did, however, apply to BS/MD programs during my senior year of high school. I didn't get in (obviously/thank goodness) but I was interviewed with Albany Medical College.

My question is whether or not that is considered "previously applying." Unfortunately, I'd already hit "certify" on AMC's secondary when I realized this might be a problem, and no one at AMC is picking up their phone, but I thought I'd ask anyway. I think the two situations are different, but I certainly wouldn't want to seem as though I was hiding this. Does anyone think this will be a major problem?

wow, no way, this is completely different from BS/MD. they don't care about that. they ask you about previous applications because a lot of schools want to see what you've done since you previously applied that makes you more worthy of acceptance this time, or if you got accepted but didn't attend, why?

so relax and stop calling AAMC, you'll be perfectly fine.

I also checked first time applicant on my amcas application despite applying to 1 school's BS/MD's program while in high school. When filling out that school's secondary, I didn't complete the "reapplicant" section on it, and I was accepted at said school.
