Stony 22AA FTW!

Hey Doc what happened to the TS, app/enroll ratio, and the SA formula?

I'm pretty sure the sGPA and oGPA columns are reversed for Tufts and a few others...not sure about the rest of the schools.

Thanks...the 2009 book is in the mail...this should keep me busy till it gets here.

At a glance it seems like AA might have went down while PA rose slightly from 2007.

Ya...so 2006 was the year DAT scores were given out like candy. Then they made it VERY hard in 2007. hence, 2007 had high DAT scores and 2008 had low ones.

So 2008 tests were harder than those of 2007? I hope that an upward trend in difficulty makes our scores more significant.

Well...it depends on the scores of 2008 which come out in the next month or so...

Meharry 16.00 PR 16.00 Meharry 3.20 Howard 3.10
PR 15.00 Meharry 16.00 Howard 3.08 Meharry 3.05

 Is this for real??

doc toothache,
Columbia score needs to be updated in SA formula ranking .
It's not 12.3, it's 13.3. Thanks. ;)

2 waitlists
1 no decision 1month after interview
i guess i am an outlier

Would it make any sense to use the UTHSCSA calculations to roughly see where u stand and if you are dental school material? Of course some schools put more emphasis on either gpa or dat.

Unfortunately these ranks while a good source don't have much importance. You have to take into account that most state schools have to enroll a certain percentage of students from within the state. This is why you see the score differences from a lot of the schools. You also have to take into account the interview process as schools probably won't accept a candidate who is very uncomfortable and can't formulate thoughts during the process regardless of scores. As for the low scores for some schools (PR 15) yeah its all who you know.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Public schools have skewed stats because they accept out of staters? It is not clear what you mean by taking into account the interview process. Isn't it taken into account by virtue of the fact that we are dealing with enrollees? So most, if not all, of the students from PR are well connected? Would that apply to other schools that have low mean scores as well as low ranges of scores?

I think what he's saying doc is that this table you have put together shouldnt be the sole means in deciding what dental schools to apply to. I think what he was saying that OOS/international students screw the mean by being outlayers (uselly higher than the accepted average). As for interviews, I think it would be nice to have a chart like this for interviewed students to compair to the accepted.

my DAT score is 21, TS 20, PAT 19. should i retake it? i took it as a junior in hopes to apply early
