Which dental schools have math requirements in college?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Does anybody know a few off of the top of their head? I know that Harvard requires a semester of Calculus and I think Upenn needs a semester of college math or something like that.

So any schools besides Harvard and Upenn?

Stony wants a semester of Stat and a semester of Calc. On their site it says 1 year of math with atleast one semester of stat OR one calc, but I took stat freshman year and when I got the acceptance call, they basically told me I had to take another semester of calc anyway, so I'm finishing that up this semester.

So that would make 3 out of 57 schools? Not bad at all...

I think most require at least 1 semester of calculus

SO, you have tot take stat AND cal?? om taking cal 3 right now, does that mean i have to take stat too??

Well I'd assume they should have asked you about that because I remember for me they mentioned I still need calculus during my interview and again when I got my acceptance call, so I'd figure its pretty important.

Maybe you can call Patricia and ask about it.

I have been looking around for a bit and haven't really seen any requirements out of any schools other than the three past mentioned. Some schools do seem to recommend it though.

I find it interesting that pre-med students and even pre-optometry are required to take at least a semester of calculus but most dental schools don't even require this.

Thats not true. I'm looking at my AAMC book right now and most med schools don't require calculus. For one, Stony Dental as I mentioned before does require calc, but as I see here, Stony Medical does not.

Edit: O and I remember reading a random post a pre-med that goes somewhere along the lines of "I challenge anyone to find me a school where the dental students have higher or even equal stats than med students." So whoever you are, Stony this year averages 3.7/3.7 for their dental and I see that it's also exactly a 3.7/3.7 for their med school aswell.
