I took the PCAT practice test, and these are my scores
Verbal: 309
Reading COMp: 396
Bio: 354
Quant: 421
Chem: 436
overall: 383
Roughly about what percentile my scores are in?

I noe my verbal is extremely low, trying to improve on that...

If I remember right a 400 is about the 50th percentile. So a 383 would be somewhere below that.

This could be part of the problem. You won't be able to improve the verbal a lot in a short time frame. You probably need an English class. I'm not trying to make fun of you. What you need is a good deal of practice reading and writing at the collegiate level.

As far as your percentile goes, it will vary with each section. For instance, the 421 quant might be higher than the 436 chem, depending on the trends of the past five years. Maybe people could post their actual scores from past PCATs as reference points? Mine are at home and I'm not right now, but I will post when I get home (actually probably tomorrow).

On the piece of paper you get in the mail, doesn't it list those numbers AND your percentile?

Or do they not do it like anymore?

I surmise that he took a practice test (as mentioned in the original post), although... I didn't know that they calculated those numbers on a practice test. Or, if they did calculate those numbers on a practice test, at least they would have posted a projected percentile score for that specific year.

Of course, if he or she is talking about a set of PCAT scores that they received in the mail, then you are completely right. Official PCAT scores come with the funky 3 digit scores on one side and the 2 digit percentile scores on the other side.

OK, compare these if you want. Bear in mind that percentile scores can drop dramatically with even a few points less, so don't assume that your 421 in quant means you'll get 85 or better...

Biology 455 98
Reading 461 99 (Did I mention the English major?)
