If you finish a block of 48 questions in less than the hour allotted, is that time put toward your break time?

Yes... in the FRED software, there are two countdown timers. One is for the amount of time remaining in the current block and the other is the amount of time left for the entire day. Once you enter your CIN (i.e. break the seal) on the test, the full day timer starts counting down from 8 hours and doesn't stop until you finish the test (or run out of time).

so there's no separate counter for breaktime? any suggestions for how to keep track, since we're not allowed to bring watches into the room?

i'd like to use all the break time i can get, but fear using too much and accidentally losing block time...

thanks!

My test center today had a wall clock in our waiting room. When you click "Take a break" after a section, it gives you a countdown of your remaining break time. So make sure to do the math in your head, constantly so that you don't lose time on Block 7.

Also, note that you actually get only 45 minutes of allotted break time... It becomes up to 1 hour if you speed thru the tutorial. This surprised me, I did not find out until today.
