I'm pretty bummed about this. I REALLLLY wanted a UoP interview invite, but I believe they're done with pre-Dec.1 spots. I've had 5 interviews so far and I feel like my stats are similar to those on PreDents who have a UoP interview. UoP has been at the top of my list since the beginning.

I really wish I knew why I haven't heard from them. Anyone else in a similar situation with UoP?

I'm in the same situation, and so are a lot of people it seems...my online status was updated to "allow 7-8 weeks for review" on 9/4...its been about 8.5 weeks, and many people have been waiting even longer... 🙁

le sigh 🙁
I've been waiting by my phone and checking my email every hour.....
it's been like 12 weeks for me haha

I stopped counting weeks. It's been under review since 08/20 (10-11 weeks?)🙁 Bummed.

I'm in the same boat as you guys 🙁. I can only guess at why they didn't offer me an interview, but I can come up with 2 reasons. First, it took forever for me to get all my LOEs - I submitted them in early September. I'm sure that hurt my chances at some schools, maybe UoP. Second, UoP is all about high RC and PAT scores. My RC score probably isn't high enough to put me among their top applicants, but I feel I still have a shot at a post-Dec 1 interview. Good luck everyone!

Well, I got a 28 on Reading Comp and they still haven't called me. Go figure.

You guys seriously need to stop worrying so much, many people who had post Dec interviews have got into UOP, including me, I interviewed in March. Also, UOP cares alot about PAT, so 22 and above would have a pretty good chance, but still, many people with good stats have not got interviews , it really depends on the whole package, many people with lower stats have got in.

I'm in the same boat, I have a 23 RC and a 25 PAT. I'm starting to think that UOP just pulls names out of a hat.

Been 8 weeks here since that status update and nothing either 🙁

But guys remember UoP has almost 1:1 interview to acceptance ratio, so they don't interview nearly as much as other schools. I think not having a pre-dec here is not that big of a deal since I feel they take their time throughout the cycle and only interview candidates they think will fit in/attend. Hopefully, we'll all get interviews here at some point in the cycle.

28 PAT and nothing as well 🙁 It's been aobut 9 weeks now i think too.

No offense...but realize that a comment like this comes across as not very flattering toward the people who HAVE interviewed there. Just because I've been rejected from various schools doesn't give me the right to nonchalantly rip the school/people who will most likely be rejected. I understand people are frustrated but cmon...have a little respect.

I know UoP is an awesome school. Does anyone know where they fall in respect to rankings? The other thing is I feel there is no correlation..I have heard alot of things like they really like volunteer work, high this and that....i dunno its just hard to tell.....I had an average overall score but my PAT is on the lower end and I still got an invite...so just hang in there everyone...and we still have post december 🙂

BTW, does UoP have a secondary application?
I don't see it listed as having one.

No they don't, all you gotta do is turn in your check and you're all set!!

12 weeks now. It just sucks because I feel pretty confident about getting at least one acceptance on Dec. 1, but I would like UoP to interview/accept me before I would have to make a decision/deposit. I realize it's a good problem to have, but it's just frustrating to have a top school, to feel like you have a very competitive application for that school, and for that to be the only school not getting back to you.

It does suck...at least its your only non-responsive school...I haven't heard from 5 of my 11 :/

The frustration level mounts when one does not get an interview call. I would suggest to be patient and hope for the best.
All the best.

I didn't find that disrespectful at all.

Just called UOP they said sit back ,relax and wait
mine was Complete on Aug 20th and it is been almost 13 weeks. I'm going crazy here :help:

Is UOP harder to get in than Harvard?

A lot of schools are just VERY selective on who they want at their schools. To those schools, grades aren't everything. You need to have what they're looking for and that's when they'll consider you for an interview.

So what's UOP looking for? "Humanitarianism"?

Just got an update on my status on UoP's website.

11/03/2009
App Type: Reviewed, No Decision
Status: "Re-review in January"

To be honest, not really surprised, and oddly not affected very much. Good luck to everyone waiting for interview invites.

Boo...me too. Not really surprised either, but a little disappointed. At least its not a flat-out rejection...Oh well!

Ahh, re-review in January for me as well. This is the one OOS school I really want.

I had the same situation, I applied in June, got an update in november " re-Review in February", got a call in february, got an interview for March. Hang on. 👍

yeah...i also got "no decision.. re-review in January". at least there is a second chance.. they will review our appl again.

hey guys, not to be a downer, but i dont think UoP really "rejects" anyone at this time anyway...im guessing the "re-review" in january is just a statement so they can pull a few ppl (which i head is not very many) from our group for post dec interview if needed. i got the same "re-review" status on my UoP online account as well. i guess im saying that are chances are a lot slimmer now 🙁

my reasoning is based on how UoP is very selective for pre-dec interviews and how a good amount put down deposits if they get accepted. If you look at predents 2009, most noted acceptances are for dec1, so looks like few ppl are getting in (or documenting acceptances in post dec). and looking at the rejections, most ppl on pedents noted rejection in march an not earlier (as in pre-dec).

just my thoughts, but who knows right?! keep the hope alive!

I like your spirit! so i guess if anyone of us ever get an interview we should buy a lotto ticket too because the odds are about the same now...haha

Damn, status changed to "re-review in jan" also. I don't know how I feel about this...

this is kinda embarassing...but can som1 post the link for the UOPs status website, I can only seem to find an email telling me to check on aadsas..

thanks..same as you guys...oh well hope for the best i guess...on a side note seems like UOP really values dental and volunteer experience.

wow you guys talkin just made me realize something. UoP interviews started on October ninth, a Thursday. It is going twice a week, Monday and Thursday every week until Dec 1st, except the Thursday that is Thanksgiving Day. Also, if it follows what I saw, there are ten people in each interview day. Counting those interview days, thats fourteen days with ten people each for a total of 140 interviewees pre-dec 1st. They said that on the First they send acceptances to fill their class (140 acceptances). So...if you were lucky enough to get an interview, good job. Assuming they only accept people they have interviewed, you probably got in. For everybody else, anybody who has a (re-review in Jan) will be a possible for those spots that those accepted don't fill by shellin out the 2k. If that's any consolation.

Because UOP is such a picky school, many of the people who get into UOP also get into other good schools and although UOP is only 3 years and such an awsomeee school 😀 (YES IT IS) the price is too much for some so they choose less expensive schools, therefore, not everyone will accept the offer from UOP, many of the waitlisters get in, they waitlist about 20-30 and about 10-15 get in. these are people who interviewd later, around feb and March.

anybody having trouble logging onto the UoP status site? It keeps telling me i have an invalid login...when i have checked their site a bajillion times before.

You're not the only one. I cannot access it as well.

No, make sure you didn't type TOO fast and missed a digit for AADSAS or something. That happened to me couple times haha.

Hey Peerless,

What happened with you last year? I remember you got waitlisted but is UOP going to accept you this year now? Is that what happens to waitlisters, they get considered automatically for the next year?

Pretty much, or even the next year after next

That's what I am REALLY hoping/praying for. I had a meeting with admissions and basically they told me it's not a guarantee so I really don't know what's gonna happen to me. OK I just added more stress to my life.....too many WHAT IFs!!! Gotta start thinking positive!!!! 👍👍👍

And to answer your question...YES most of the waitlister left overs from last year will get considered 1st round without interviews. And on some very rare occasions, the school will call back applicants for re-interviews. That's all I know!! Hopefully this helps!!

thanks, good luck to you then, the amount of volunteer and experience hrs you got is insane! You deserve it.
