Yes you can. There is a girl at my school doing that with her boyfriend who is a DO studdent.

You do the ACGME match through ERAS just as you would if you were applying couples match as an MD student. Comptetive specialties are harder to get in the couples match however if the candidate would normally not have problems matching into that specialty, you probably wont have too many problems couples matching.

To my knowledge you cannot link the AOA match and the ACGME match into a couple match. You may be able to do the DO match and then she/he ranks high only programs in that city... logistically it would be near impossible.

You could do it if you aim for MD residencies, but there's no way to do it between AOA and ACGME matches. As far as being competitive, as a DO, you'll have to do all the things that made MDs competitive, and then some, especially if you are going the couples match route. That means, taking USMLE, getting good grades, and doing rotations at allopathic programs. If you don't want to go the ACGME route, you could always just have both of you try to aim for residencies in similar areas. There are lots of DO and MD residencies in the northeast and MI, such that if you just both apply broadly, you can match your rank lists up, and try to get close to one another, without being at the same hospital.
