Hi all, I'm not sure if anyone already started this thread (I know there's one for the international students) and nothing comes up in the search so I thought I'd start one off here.

I was wondering if anyone got the notification for their interviews yet? I checked the C/O 2013 thread and they got theirs today (a year before) so I'm a bit worried.
 
Hi! I'm new to this forum stuff but I've been getting really worried about interviews too!

Im wondering if any Canadian applicants have heard yet about interview dates because i'm pretty sure they said we would know by late april.... I haven't received any emails and on webadvisor my admission status is "application received"

ya ive been reading through a bunch of threads and last year their interviews were May 11-16 i think...and they received emails around April 28th so it seems like they contact you late. That's what im hoping anyways haha.

I'm just wondering if everyone receives an email regardless of whether or not they have an interview...that way I will at least know if i got one or not...or just waiting in the dark?
 
I'm so anxious! I check my email almost constantly .. even on the weekends and at night, long after the people sending the email would have left the office =P.

Thanks for the heads up. I hope we all get interviews!!!! Good luck guys! Haha, yeah I was checking my Gryph mail at every hour and even on weekends too.
 
JUST GOT MY NOTIFICATION!!!

Mine is at 8:00AM on the first day (the 17th). Anyone else get their notifications yet?

I still haven't received anything regarding the graduate cohort interviews, have you received anything as of yet?
 
Does anyone have any specific info on the MMI system being used this year?
 
One more week till the interviews!

A question for Elizabeth: would we be getting a washroom break in between?

Do you guys have any idea of what to wear yet? I think I'll probably be wearing a dress shirt and dress pants, and some nice looking flats.. no heels for sure.
 
im going to wear a dress suit and some nice flats.
I'm under the impression that we dont get an actual washroom break during the interview. However, there is going to be one rest station. But im not sure if you'll be able to leave to go to the washroom or not...
 
Without disclosing any questions or breaking the contract of confidentiality, how did you guys like the MMI format?

I thought it went okay, but it was REALLY hard to gauge how well I did, though I know I bombed some. I'm trying to block out any memories I have of this, and just wait to find out whether or not I got in .. does anybody know when we'll find out?
 
I didn't apply this year, but I was waiting around for my friend and she was walking out with Elizabeth, who said it would probably be around 4 weeks-ish till everyone finds out.

But even last year, we were told 2 weeks and then it ended up being about a month. So that's what I would go by....

yea, to be honest i was really surprised at the questions they used at the MMI. I'm not going to talk about what they asked, but they were totally unlike the practice ones I had from medical MMI interviews. I think its going to be a long 4 weeks =(

I quite liked it actually, I didn't feel nervous (I think it was just because there wasn't even enough time to be nervous) and my interviewers (all of them) were really nice and friendly. The mock MMI held by the OVC c/o 2013 really helped me a lot though I thought. Definitely going to be a long wait, good luck to all of you!
 
so are any of you starting to go crazy yet?!! its been three weeks since my interview! hopefully by the end of this week we will hear?

hey I'm not sure if this is official, if this is an actual 'admittance' notification, but I just checked my webadvisor and it says "status: admitted" ... is that.. a good thing??? I'm still in disbelief right now as I type this

Yup I'm pretty sure that's official!!! They'll pobably be sending us an inormation package soon. This is so excting!!!

thanks! and just to take a quick poll, do you guys think it's better to live with other OVC students, alone, or just with other UG undergrads?
 
i would lean towards living with other OVC students, so you can all suffer together 🙂. I was not a Guelph student previously so it will be interesting to figure out living arrangements...

Has anyone received a package in the mail yet? Webadvisor says "Admitted" but I haven't gotten anything for almost 2 weeks. Just wondering if everyone is in the same boat.
 
I got my letter in the mail on Monday. It arrived to my parent's house in St. Catharines (near Niagara Falls) so it didn't have very far to travel. It had a 2 page letter and another form we had to sign and fax back to Heather Heaton. You have until July 5th to return it so if you don't get it soon maybe email her to inquire?
 
Hey guys!

Congrats on those of you who got in! If anyone is still looking for a place I have one room in a 4 bedroom all girls townhouse right off of gordon. It's about a 15-20 minute walk and its up for 390/month on an 8 month lease. It's a really nice place and the new landlords are renovating all the floors carpets and putting in CF bulps with new light fixtures and new paint in all the rooms. If you're interested send me a message!
