Hey guys,

First I want to say THANK YOU to everyone here. All the advice/help/practice scores/tips and everything was invaluable.

Here are my scores from today:

PAT: 21 (92.2)
QR: 22 (95.7)
RC: 21 (84.5) PIANO!
Bio: 24 (98.7)
GC: 30 (100.0)
OC: 30 (100.0)
TS: 28 (99.9)
AA: 25 (99.9)

I'll slowly work on a breakdown, but basically I started studying in the winter thinking I could take it during the semester but that wasn't going to work out so I postponed it. Real studying started after I graduated so I've been studying for 6 weeks interrupted by a week in miami =p.

I can't believe I did so well in the sciences. I got freaked out by the piano passage that came up as my first one so I skipped it at first to do the other ones.

Breakdown:

PAT (21): This is one score I wish was higher, but oh well.
CDP is great. That's really all you need. The DAT is a little harder but only by a little. Achiever is maybe more on par, but I think a little harder and really frustrating for me. A lot of the questions were really easy, so easy i thought i was being ******ed, some were pretty difficult. I avg'd 23ish on PAT.

QR (22): I didn't really study that much for this section. I would like to have studied more for it. I didn't get any p-value questions (thank god). I just did the math problems in the destroyer book and had practice from the various practices tests I did. I probably averaged around 22ish on practice tests.

RC (21)
: I practiced with CDR mostly. I think it was really helpful. I also used ViciViper's technique (sort of). This section just takes practice. The first thing I saw when I opened this section was THE PIANO, and I got super scared. I just skipped it and did the other 2 passages first. They were easy, I think easier than CDR. The Piano passage wasn't as difficult as I thought it was going to be but was definitely hard. It's questions are like Achiever but I actually think Achiever passages are more difficult. I averaged 23 on CDR and 18/19 on Achiever.

Bio (24): This section is easy for the most part. But I did get a few that I had to sort of made educated guesses at and one I had no idea. Cliffs AP is a good resource for this. Destroyer is good too.

Gchem (30): Super easy compared to any other practice test.

Ochem (30): Same as above.

Destroyer/Chad's are basically all you need for chemistries.

One thing I do want to say is that Achiever is stupid hard in sciences. I was getting like 17TS so.. yea. But its good to practice taking tests none the less. Feel free to ask any questions, I want to give back to this community in any way I can.

Stats: 3.9 overall GPA/3.9 Science GPA. I don't know what other "stats" there are... but I really want to go to UCLA. Hopefully it works out!

Thanks!!

Awesome scores
i'm studying for my test now. Do you think Destroyer and cliff notes for Bio are enough?. That's all i'm using. Math is not a problem for me I did all the math detsroyer and i got most of them right. It's Bio and orgo that i'm worried about. Gen chem is not a problem too as I was able to do the Destroyer questions with no problem.
any suggestions will be highly appreciated
thanks

Its hard for me to say if those are enough for bio. I had a biology major, so I learned a lot of stuff over my years in bio classes. I think just going over all the mistakes from all the practice tests really helps. Going over mistakes from Achiever is probably the least useful thing I did. It was too specific, but having said that its still really good practice.

For Ochem, I think destroyer is sufficient. The DAT ochem is really easy I thought.

Best of luck.

would u care to share your top score science scores?? Just want to know where i stand...

They're not great at all and won't tell you much because none were close to my test date.

My sort of diagnostic in January:
Bio: 21
Gchem: 21
Ochem: 18

Then another sort of diagnostic before I started actually studying hardcore in May:
All 18's

So that doesn't really help you too much. Sorry. But I took a Kaplan test relatively recently:

20/25/20 B/G/O

How did you go about studying for Gchem and Ochem? Was it just notes for chad then you went through destroyer?

I actually didn't watch chad until after I finished destroyer. I had gone through KBB first and then learned ochem/gchem by going through destroyer actually. If I could do it all over again, I would watch chad's first, but I didn't know about it at the time I started studying. Then I would go over KBB. But overall, I'd say I learned the most from just correcting mistakes from destroyer/practice tests (minus achiever, I think its too difficult). And what really helped me at the end was really focusing hard during problem sets from Kaplan or w/e and making sure I didn't make dumb mistakes, which were the source of most of my errors. I never got 30's on any practice tests, or anywhere close to it. Practice stuff, even the easiest practice stuff is harder than the DAT. The sample DAT in the end is actually pretty accurate to the real DAT IMO.

nice scores! Im hoping that the actual DAT's ochem and genchem will be easier than topscore too! :xf:
