snail mail is so 1980s.
The definitely send mail, but I think they TRY to time it to arrive December 1st. At the interview Dr. Mejia said that they might try emails this year (or even an email at 12:01 if they can figure out how to). Lol I don't want to get anyone's hopes up but she did say this 😉

Yes, that's who it was. Dr. Mejia. All the way back in September...I forget who said what haha. Let's all cross our fingers for an e-mail, it would make life much less complicated!

Pretty sure it's harder to print out a personalized acceptance letter/package and mail it to its 200+ accepted students than it is to email them.
Can we call to check on Dec 1st ?
Somebody should call and ask tommorow if and when they will be sending out an email... Shot not calling lol.... Btw if they do the emails, people who got waitlisted or rejected will also receive an email?

I asked not too long ago. She said both ways so I presume they notify us via email and snail mail.

I'm going to call NYUCD and ask them right now.
They said they'll send out both email and snail mail, and they'll send the email as early as they can, close to midnight. I'm guessing somewhere around midnight or midnight thirty.

check the acceptance threads. I received an e-mail at 12:02 EST saying an acceptance package is in the mail. I haven't heard if people who are on hold/waitlisted received an e-mail, but I don't think they did.
Keep in touch with admissions if you do get waitlisted. Find new ways to stand out in the crowd! Best of luck to you!

thank gd for this thread. I thought that the only emails were yesterday night and that was it 🙁 i had no idea emails would still be sendin out today . Crossing fingers.
I am not sure. Admissions after today is on a rolling basis so we should def hear by today for pre-dec interviews.

i didnt ask because i didnt get an email. he said they cant provide decisions over the phone (so dont bother calling and asking about acceptances.) snail mail was sent either yesterday or today and should arrive by Saturday with a decision (acceptance, rejection or waitlist.)
My opinion is this: if you are waitlisted you will hear back by January.
Why? Because most people will drop NYU at the drop of a hat when they get accepted into their state schools.

i know what you mean, and im totally with you on that theory of students dropping them. I just know that if i dont get an email today, snail mail for me comes in either as a rejection or waitlist. Losing hope by the hour though.

yaa i hope others drop NYU for their first choice. i guess it's waiting for the mail for me too, but don't lose hope now! you'll need it the most after that letter! haha aahh
