For pharmacy orientation class, I had to interview a pharmacist. So when I went back home to thanksgiving break, I did that and afterwards I asked about a job. The pharmacist told me I would need to work twice a month and since I'm in school three hours away, it would be better for me to find a CVS to work here. But she also said to email her manager to see what he says.
I emailed him and he said to call him to schedule an interview when I get back for winter break.
What can I possibly do there? I don't have any actual pharmacy experience yet and I want to look good for the new interview they rolled out for us to be able to go from U2 -> P1.

How many hours do you think they would let me work since I can only work on winter break and summer vacation, which is 4 weeks and 3 months respectively?

There's your first problem. I doubt anyone will hire you if you refuse to work during school.

Yeah, no one is going to hire you if you can only work basically 10 weeks a year, especially as a U-1 (no offense). The regular staff isn't going to want to lose hours for you, and it's too much work to train someone who isn't around. I'm not saying this as a slight against you at all, but we've had some interns who don't work on a regular basis but think they are fine because they are in school and "learning." Unfortunately, a lot of the school-learning you do isn't always reflective of a day in a retail pharmacy, which is why you need regular exposure. The area around USP is saturated, but if you don't mind taking SEPTA to some different parts of the city, PM me and I'll send you some stores that might take you for a few hours a week.

you don't need a degree to put pills in bottles.
like,literally, you don't.

you...don't really need experience either. i guess you need thumbs. you have those right. because how would you hit the space bar. unless you poke at the keys with mangled fingers. that would be pretty hard. how would you hold a fork? wait what was i talking about.

oh. yeah. you can do plenty at a pharmacy, even if you work twice a month although they are right it really makes more sense to work near your school. i don't know if that's what you are asking when you said "What can i possibly do there"

I don't think many places will hire you based on your criteria. You should work at minimum a day a week even if its for a couple of hours. As you adjust, obviously increase your hours. Remember, its all about time management.

 This reminded me of the person with only two fingers (and this one is mangled) or the eagle from Hyperbole and a Half. Eagles are all about efficiency.

Yep, freshman in a 0-6 program, to differentiate from P1.
I like this nomenclature. Never heard of it until now, but it makes a lot of sense. Definitely clears up those "how is this person a P3? they don't know anything about anything!" moments for those who are actually a P1. Also gets rid of those awkward "I'm a P5" comments.
