UC Irvine

I was hoping all the California people to tell me what they think about UC Irvine as far as their medicine residency program, reputation, and especially about getting a fellowship in cards, GI, nephro. thanks.

I interviewed there last week, seemed to be a very good program with a very strong commitment to improvement. Good mix of training settings with UCI, Long Beach VA, and Long Beach Memorial (very good private hospital).

The word is that the fellowships at Irvine are very big on accepting their own people so if you'd like to do any of those fellowships at UCI you would certainly be in the running.
