Do DO's have trouble finding work?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
This is my future here. If you can't give me a serious answer, kindly get out of the thread.

Many hospitals across the country need janitorial staff, so a DO will never go without a job.

You know what I mean. Do DO's usually actually become doctors?

Nope. they are just idiots who go through almost 8 years of education and training all so they can't become doctors.

Why don't you ask in the resident or osteopathic medical student section of SDN?

Y'know, since we're all pre-med and haven't gone through the whole job-searching process. 😀

Well DO also means do. You know, because they got that CAN DO attitude. I suggest carribean school, OP. I hear trinity has almost no attrition...as for their residency match rates...you're on the beach who cares right??!!

You know what I mean. Do DO's usually actually become doctors?

Do everyone here and yourself a favor and just go to the Caribbean brah...more chances you will actually become doc then.

Sweet baby dinosaurs. The stupid. It burns

DO's tend to snag jobs as college janitors or can usually end up getting a great job as a middle school teachers assistant. Good luck in your endeavors!

Really though......just go home.

Don't forget about CNA and ER volunteer, they can use their medical degree for that too. So many options...must be why I am droppin 2K on apps.

Dont forget the hundreds you drop on a single interview......

On that note, I heard all DO schools test your ability with a mop before even starting an interview.

yeah, do school = bad idea.
you're going to be a permanent outcast, walking around the hospital with your head bowed down and eyes averted in shame.
the county morgue doesn't even want you as a pathologist.
elsewhere you will live in constant fear that the end-stage comatose patient in room 109 might one day discover your real medical degree and scream in horror.
your nights will be filled with envy that the dude from ross gets to call himself an md and tell all his neighbors he's an md, and you can't.
your minimum wage salary will go to buying duct tape to cover up the initials that you despise so much.
surely the do degree shall follow you all the days of your life and you will dwell in the house of poverty and misery for ever.
get out now while you can.

I save this quote for occasions like this. :meanie:

haha the mental image in my head of the interviewees moping the floor in their fancy suits is hilarious!😀

Its the start of school. What we have is a surplus of stupid freshmen that have nothing else better to do than troll pre-med forums.

When I was a college freshman I had tons of better things to do than be on the internet.. Now my life is basically wake up, anxiously check email, go to school, anxiously check email, go to work, get on SDN, anxiously check email, go home, get on SDN, go to sleep. Boy do I miss college 👍

I make a motion that we never write do-DO's again. Because I cant take that seriously...I just think of two-sies...

Do DO's have a harder time finding work than MD's? Do a significant percentage of DO's end up unemployed?

This is my future here. If you can't give me a serious answer, kindly get out of the thread.

As future doctors, I expect you to be able to do some research yourself and only when you can't find the answers yourself should you turn to others for help. Hand holding and answering every whimsicle questions is for elementary and middle schoolers. If you haven't discover yet, there is this thing call the Internet which is a series of tubes design to answer your questions. Perhaps a simple search on this fancy Internet might help you find your answers. Have you tried google or yahoo? Have you tried the search button on top of this forum?

Your follow up question probably will be if you can get a radonc residency at Harvard or neurosurgery at Hopkins? My guess is no, and it's not due exclusively to the DO degree.

Now let me get back to filling out my unemployment claims, and panhandling, which according to the news, I can make more than most MD residents, so they be jealous and hating.

At first I loved this for the sweet burn and by the end I was laughing almost to tears. Bravo!

Not only can DO practise the traditional aspects of medicine but also has added new tool of OMM. Which opens up the job market.

i heard one DO has several private practices devoted to OMT around wall street and is making big moneys from stressed businessman. now that is self-made and creative plannin. don't know if it is true or not.

The piling on in this thread is priceless! Hahahaha. DAMN, ya'll are mean!

Hmm, well I'm scared now that maybe my 6 figure income is a hoax? I need to go back to delivering pizzas in case my day job goes under.

Dont they pay you guys in monopoly money? Thats the rumor around my community. Personally, I can't wait for all of the fun color money.

OP---either you're some very dedicated troll--or you need to spent a few minutes researching what DO is.

D.O.- DOCTOR of Osteopathic Medicine

Yes--you will be a doctor and you will get a job.

I paid all my fees with monopoly money, they didn't care cause they know that's all I am ever going to get paid!

and that COMLEX exam, it's all about janitorial practices.

Haha this thread just made my day. Have to say though, while I think it is a ridiculous question I wouldn't tear apart the one who asked the question because anyone who gets a 42 mcat deserves a little mercy.. at least this time

Lol. You actually believe anything this tool says?

Cmon man. Don't be so gullible. You're going to be the one writing narcs for the 12/10 pain patient based on his word alone.

The internet is where I let my insecurities show and when someone has a higher mcat score than I do and I know something they don't I have an uncontrollable desire to make fun of them until they cry. :meanie: 😎:scared::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

Seriously though...it's hard to resit the urge to make fun of people who ask dumb questions.

LMFAO it wasn't too hard to get people to label me the new troll in town, was it?

Maybe I won't get a serious answer to my question any time soon, but I can't wait to have fun playing around with my new status on this site.

Dude... That guy gets to wear a Leatherman on his belt!
I totally can't wear a knife on my belt at my current job!

This picture has strengthened my resolve to become a DO now, more than ever!
I guess going to school for 8 more years and getting myself $250,000 in debt does have its privileges!
