carpal tunnel

Hello everyone My brother was recently diagnosed with De Quervain’s (both hands!) and carpal tunnel syndrome in his left hand. I personally experience some sort of hand pain, but not to the same degree as him. He’s interested in Pathology and IM (Pulm), but ever since he got the diagnosis...

So I have mild carpal tunnel. When I say mild I mean it basically onset. The symptoms have just started up about a month ago and flare up only after a couple hours of gaming and its not too bad when it does flare up. Would this prevent me from becoming a surgeon?
