I have read on other posts that the University of Texas is a 0-6 school but its not mentioned anywhere in the UT site. How does this 0-6 thing work over there?

0-6 program is designed for people who have not done any pharmacy prerequisites. It consists of 2 years of pharm prereqs and 4 years of professional courses. You may need to inquire the school about whether they offer the program or not. Generally speaking, if u have finished a few or all of the pharm prereqs, then 0-6 programs wont really work for ya

Im still in highschool right now and am just applying to the prepharmacy program at UT so i havent done any of my pre requisites yet. UT does not give any indication of having a "0-6" program but ive read in another post that UT was one of the schools that did it. I prolly will just ask the school.

The best thing about the 0-6 program is that you're accepted into the Doctor of Pharmacy program as a freshman and as long as you maintain your grades there is no reapplying, no PCAT's and no further interviews, etc. I don't know how TX is w/ the Pharmacy program, but my State university requires an application after the 2nd year and it is "guaranteed admission" providing you maintain a 3.6 gpa (YIKES) for the first 2 years. The admissions counselor gave advice to all the future students in the audience that "if you get in to any 0-6 program, do it", because the competition is so fierce for the State University program(60 slots per year)-

Just to be accepted directly in to the PharmD program out of high school is a huge relief (and most 0-6 programs do not accept transfer applicants).

I think the agreement is with UT El Paso. You take the first few years at UT El Paso and then you go to UT Austin to pharmacy school. I'm not positive but I think that's what I read. Check out the UT El Paso webpage. They probably have something on there about it.

Here, maybe this is what you're looking for

Thanks for the replies but after looking at the el paso link i see that i dont qualify because i dont meet the 3.4 highschool gpa requirement.
