Does anyone know if there's a difference between them?

I ask because I have the '06-'07 one, and if there isn't a significant difference, I'd rather not spend the $40, ya know?

TIA

The new one has Midwestern in it and the old one doesn't. Otherwise... they are VERY similar. The stats are different for each school since they are from the previous year, but I don't really think I needed to buy the new one.

The 07 has a lot more stats than the 06 version. The wealth of information is priceless. It will be an excellent source of info for making informed decisions in choosing dental schools for your consideration. You will be less likely to ask questions on SDN as to where to apply and what your chances area. It should rank as one of your wise investments.

That's two different opinions, anyone else want to weigh in?

It's doubtful any school's requirements have changed?

And let's say I'm applying to 25 schools (I haven't decided the # yet, but anyway...), I'm not convinced those selections would really change based on the variation of statistics by year. Thoughts?

I'll probably end up giving the ADEA more money, but it's nice to consider not doing it. 🙂

That is a fantastic link. Thanks.

But about the ADEA book... you see, I have it -- just last year's edition. Could a school's stats have changed that much? (And I am picking schools based on many other factors than their apparent cut-off for certain stats.)

Honestly, there are not going to be drastic changes at any schools. The amount of applicants has probably gone up since last year, but no school is going to go from a 19 AA on the DAT to a 22 in one year. Plus, most of the time someone posts a link to a pdf view of the stats from the current book.

I think one major difference between the 06 and 07 editions is that '07 version has #interviews for each school. I don't think this information is available in '06 edition, and it was just really nice to know whether a school interviewed many more than they admit. Also, accepted stats have changed quite a bit since the '06 edition. 😀🙂😉

Just be sure to look at the websites for all schools applying to b/c prereqs do seem to be growing (micro, anatomy w/ lab, etc).

Looks like you want to continue to:beat: until your final decision to spend or save $35.

Actually, # interviews/# of apps might be a good thing to be aware of.

VERY funny. Never seen the "beating a dead horse" emoticon. Or would that be "expressicon" ("expression" + "icon").

Fine, I'll drop it.

PM me if you want to know the exciting conclusion to this epic dilemma.
