Hey everyone, I was thinking about taking the DAT on September 28, 2003, and so I was wondering if about 1 and a half months of studying for the DAT (studying about 6 hours everyday) would be sufficient to do well (to score 21). Thanks a lot for your guys help!

-also, what is the format of the Topscore CD? Just practice questions, or ? Thanks.

if you are dedicated, I think it's more than enough time. Sometimes I think people study too long and they end up getting burned out...

For my DAT, I spent several weeks studying for about 8-10 hours a day....by the time test time came, I felt pretty good about the material.

HSO, your plan is fine! In fact, you are probably near the optimal amount of studying time.

The DAT really isn't very difficult, and I think that a month of planned studying is the perfect amount!

I am a perfect example of getting burned out before the test. I study pretty solid for 2months then put the test off for a month. I really didn't do anything for that third month and got burned by the DAT. I just plain forgot what I studied. so study for 6-8 hours a day for a month. like Gavin says its not that difficult of test. good luck.

I am retaking my DAT in end of OCTOBEr. I am going to study from her on out but really put studying time in for the month of september.

I guess it depends on the person, but for me, I needed a lot more time than a month and a half. I"m pretty anal about detail so I did not feel comfortable in a month.
However, if you put in 10-12 hours/ day for the next month, I see no problem with having enough time. I only studied 4-5 hours/day for 3 months. I did not remember any Gchem or Ochem so that I had to relearn.
If you're dedicated than you will succeed in 1.5 months.
Remember to take actual practice tests and do many many practice problems. It's one thing to just read and memorize, but it's a whole different ball game when you're doing the problems!
The topscore is very similar to the real exam. I did find the PAT and Reading to be easier than the real thing, while the Bio, Gchem, and Ochem were more difficult than the real DAT.
